because if god is our father, we , atheists have shown him that we are able of pursuing happiness and joy on our own, we, as good children are able of live an independent life.
If god is a father he/she will be pleased to see how their children are able to live on their own, without asking him/her favours or graces or anything else...god would think his creation was worth the effort when he saw that his/her children are able of living independently...well that is what any normal father is happy with. A normal father doesnt place his "interests" before his children.

Isn't consciousness a kind of big mystery? Why would people, even those without moral, feel remorse about bad things they do?

US Military Protestant chapel service? It is good. I am in the US Air Force and I attend a Baptist Church outside the base. When I was sent to Afghanistan and Iraq recently I attended a Traditional Protestant Chapel service. The Gospel was preached, people were baptised and communion was held...Lords Supper. Sometimes here at home in Arkansas I think back to those days. I really missed those times. A co-worker buddy of mine in the Air Force went to those Protestant Chapel services also and he is Methodist at home. The Chaplain was an Air Force Captain and he was 4-Square Pentecostal at his home of residence. He made a statement one service that he realized that those in attendance were of different denominations so he would refrain from the heavy Pentecostal beliefs. For Christians the military chapels have 3 services, Catholic, Protestant and LDS. They also have Jewish and some non-christian faiths. What are your thoughts on this?

I'm not sure exactly how specific an answer I can get. I mean, I would consider Mormons a separate religion from most Protestant religions, but I would probably put, say, Lutherans and Methodists in the same category. I would assume most religions have numerous denominations, as well.

I'm not trying to start a big religious debate, I'd just like an estimate, preferably with a website for reference.

I think mine is because I am becoming more and more like Christ all the way through but He has already transformed my Spirit (I am a new creation through Christ Jesus) - so if I totally surrender I will be more like who God intended me to be...

1. If you totally surrender what will you have surrendered too?
2. Your thoughts what do you reckon about my hypothesis?

many ppl look at Jehovah's witnesses as wierd or they think we try to force people into our religion..or were not christians because we go to to door. DID YOU KNOW that jesus sent his disciples door to door by twos?luke 10:1 "After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come." Luke10:5,6 "Wherever YOU enter into a house say first, ‘May this house have peace.’ And if a friend of peace is there, YOUR peace will rest upon him. But if there is not, it will turn back to YOU. " after Jesus died the disciples continued doing as Jesus commanded. Acts5:42 "And every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus." if you would like more scriptures on this or have any comments feel free to email me.

I love this question because it reveals the true intent of the biblical scholar. If they like war and destruction its alway murder then you can apply your own definition of murder. Kill is pretty precise and demands you to be basically a pacifist.

I have always heard, regarding the origins of Satan, that he was once an angel called Lucifer... in fact God's favorite angel or the highest-ranking angel... and that he rebelled and took 1/3 of the angels in heaven with him, and that those angels are now demons. However, I have never found any references to this in the bible. As a relatively new Christian (2 years since I was saved) I haven't spent a lot of time on learning about Satan instead concentrating, as I believe I should, on Christ and on learning to be the best, most obediant child of God I can be. Can anyone give me biblical verse references that explain how Satan became who and what he is? If it's not in the bible, what is this story based upon?
