For example...when petitioning God for a answer that I have already predetermined his method of answer to....he surprises me by indeed answering, but by using a completely different avenue, that I had not even considered...and I just stand back and marvel at his wisdom...I believe that he does this to increase my faith and to make it very clear that it was he that sovereignly answered...it was not "coincident"
JACK i will give you a thumbs up...you're just having fun.

Nope, no, no sirree, absolutely not, never in a million years.....
And now for a brighter look!!
Ya know what, I don't think I have ever had so much fun, mirth and sheer happiness and joy. And it all come from being saved by Jesus!
I find it to be an experience which is rarely dull (yes it has happened, I did yawn during one of my pastor's sermons.)
I have laughed like never before. It is the laugh of faith.

"fun"? No, it's not fun to deny myself, and try to crucify my flesh and follow Jesus Christ. It is a constant struggle. I am a selfish person and I'm constantly praying for help to be less of one.
Being a Christian isn't about having fun. Fun is mindless. Being a Christian is a discipline. It doesn't mean that following Jesus doesn't bring joy, it does. But it isn't easy. It is, however, much more fulfilling than doing whatever feels good at the time.

I take my Faith in Jesus Christ very seriously, but I also know that Jesus came to give life more abundantly. And part of that abundant life I'm sure includes fun and laughter. Our Father God in Heaven is the perfect father to us. What father does not want his children to experience laughter and joy in this life and the next? We are promised joy that surpasses all human understanding when we have Jesus as Our Lord and Master. I am a true christian who very much has fun and much laughter, especially knowing I'm secure in My Heavenly Father's loving plans. God bless

Oh, yes, definitely. But I'm a bit of a history geek, so researching surviving Norwegian, Icelandic, and Orkneyjar folk customs IS fun for me . . . and so it adapting them to South Texas seasons and 21st C urban realities. ;-)
Heathens make good company, as well---we're hospitable, quick to offer good food, good drink, fire up the BBQ or a cigar . . . and because there's a certain baseline of scholarship among us, conversations tend to be wide-ranging, colorful, and deep.
Our rite of sumbel is probably the most fun we have, though. Stories, songs, memories, boasts, you name it . . . all over a horn of good homemade mead passed around a campfire. Some of the best times I've had in my life have been had at sumbel.

I have been able to bear many things because my Christian family is able to see through the darkness, because of the Light. My younger sister was given a 7% chance of survival 21 years ago, and our household was transformed. I was the holdout, to the point of locking my bedroom and refusing to come out when the minister came to visit. When I did come to believe, I was profoundly changed. We went through her debilitating chemotherapy and people were drawn to our home because of the joy that radiated from our newfound Love. She is with us to this day, and still an inspiration to all who know her. Her health is frail, but she is strong in spirit. We kid each other that the best years of our lives was when "she was dieing of cancer." When she lost her hair, my husband shaved his head. When she couldn't eat, I would bring five children and a dog into her room, and they would do their comic routine of starving, and tell her nobody got any food until she ate something. She still calls me Nurse Cratchet, but we had joy.

There was a time in my life when I didn't have fun. I was raised in Catholic School as a small girl; my impression of God was angry, "fire and brimstone," much like the wizard in the wizard of oz. As an adult, I waited for God to give me what I prayed for, in other words for God to "jump through His hoop."
I am at a different vantage point in my life now. I have a wonderful time and experience a lot of fun with my faith. I see the heart of the Lord as mercy and God sharing His laughter with me in silly breezes, I see God's reflection in my grandson's green eyes, and God's movement in my silly guide dog's tail!

Of course yes. =^D Apostolics LOVE to fellowship and eat such indulgent, rich foods to quench our indulgent, rich appetites. And everyone's poking fun at each other non-stop, all in good clean fun, in the name of Jesus.
God wants us to laugh at ourselves, because He's always laughing at us - just like how we laugh at our own kids, especially when they are serious about something, but they honestly do and say the silliest things. God never meant to stifle humor. In fact, He is the author of it! He created us in His image, with the breadth of emotions He already has. So why not enjoy the laughs? It is edifying as well ;^D
God Bless You always Ramjet!

There's a season for everything and YES, we do have fun in Christianity most of the time. We have a great fellowship of believers who have good attitudes and great senses of humor. Our Pastor also has a wonderful sense of humor. Why wouldn't we have fun, it's a part of life.

I see no point in becoming a being of Love and Light ....and then losing the most precious and joyous part of it all.
We are human beings!
Be human!
