The bible was originally tales handed down verbally between generations, before writing. (If you have ever played "Telephone", you know how reliable that is.) And no, there is no such thing as a god. See:

The Bible is not a book as much as it is a collection of writings. The development of scripture happened over time. The written parts primarily started at approximately 1000 BC through the late 1st Century AD.

But it seems you're asking about the compilation. It is hard to really know when the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) was officially put together. In the late 1st Century/Early 2nd Century, we have knowledge of is the Bryennios List, which was discovered in 1873. It has a list of several books (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Joshua, Deuteronomy, Numbers, Judges, Ruth, 4 of Kings (Samuel and Kings), 2 of Chronicles, 2 of Esdras, Esther, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs, Job, Minor prophets, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel) So they were probably officialized by that point as far as being considered Scripture.

The New Testament and bringing the two together is answered well by the person above me. There was a lot of discussion in the Early Church as far as what would be considered Scripture, Heresy, or something in between.

Since you have not recieved an answer for the practical side of your question I will try to help.

Some would say the Dead Sea Scrolls are the oldest Bible or this paste from a website I googled.

The oldest known copy of the Bible (complete Bible) in the world is the Codex Sinaiticus, dating from the 3rd or 4th century A.D. The Codex, while not only translating Hebrew and Greek manuscripts into all Greek, documents the dramatic shift of preserving texts in a bound book form rather than the tradition of writing on scrolls. There is speculation this book was written in Egypt.

When the Emperor Constantine of the Eastern Empire (Greece) adopted Christianity, he commissioned the compilation of Greek versions of the principal Jewish and Christian scriptures. Although history records 50 manuscripts were written under the guidance of Eusebius, we're not totally sure this is one of those copies.

Since its discovery in bits and pieces of vellum at the Monastery of St. Catherine in Sinai, Egypt, almost half of the Old Testament has been lost. Constantin Tischendorf, a German scholar, was instrumental in the acquisition of these documents for his own country and Russia in 1844 and 1859. As is the case with antiquity, the codex carries a value not only historically, but monetarily.

The remainder of the codex is split between St. Catherine's Monastery, Sinai; the British Library, the University of Leipzip, Germany; and the National Library of Russia, St. Petersburg. Due to the fragility of the vellum, the manuscripts are kept under glass to protect them from further damage.

Current collaborative efforts are to completely digitize the codex to make it available for a world-wide audience in English; possibly German, Spanish, and modern Greek. This may include a free website, a high quality digital facsimile, and CD ROM. The oldest Bible in the world would be able to be seen by all, but not be damaged by constant handling.

The Catholic Church also has a similar copy called Codex Vaticanus, but is thought to be of a later date.

So this is the oldest known and no they were not there when God made the Universe. Only Jesus and the Holy Spirit were with God at that glorious time.

Yes, there is a God who chose twelve apostles to carry out His divine plan for humanity. The Bible isn't only a spiritual book it's also a historical book as well. It's many individual books written by different people over a period of about 6000 years. With all books pointing in the same direction, towards Jesus Christ.

It's split into two sections, the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament was written before Jesus and the New Testament after Jesus. The New Testament is concealed in the Old and the Old Testament is revealed in the New.

The word "Bible" comes from the Greek word "Biblia", meaning "books." Therefore, the Bible is a collection of "books." The content was first passed on by oral tradition over a long period of time before it was put in written form.

The Old Testament was composed in Hebrew and translated into Greek around the 2nd and 3rd centuries before Christ. The New Testament was composed in Greek during the 2nd half of the 1st century A.D.

Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Scripture grew from the life, worship and teaching of the early Church. Therefore, the Church is its authentic interpreter, under the active help of the same Holy Spirit.

The gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) were formed in three stages. First, Jesus' own teaching in his early lifetime. Second, the oral tradition in which the apostles passed on what Jesus had said and done; and third, the putting into writing of the Gospels that we have till this day.

In interpreting Sacred Scripture, the Church searches out: (1) the human author's meaning; (2) the context of the text in relation to the whole Bible; (3) within our own search for meaning; (4) under the guidance of the Holy Spirit through the authentic interpretation of the Magisterium, the teaching Church.

Peace and every blessing!

The first Bible, the Zodiac (begin with Virgo, end with Leo)
The second Bible, the Great Pyramid at Giza.
The third Bible, the Torah and its prophetic extensions thru NT Revelation.

God does things in threes. These are the three Bibles. If you read them correctly they all agree as to the work and purpose of El Shaddai through time.

Many people wrote the bible. Shepherds, Lawyers, Tax men, Kings, Doctors, Fishermen, etc. it was written over a period of two thousand years, and has been translated in many languages.
Jesus said to us that the Holy Spirit will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.
The Holy Spirit is God who lives inside of us. FYI
Everything in the Scriptures is God's Word. All of it is useful for teaching and helping people and for correcting them and showing them how to live. The Scriptures train God's servants to do all kinds of good deeds.

Since the bible was written over Years, its not like moses grabbed a book and wrote in it, then passed it on. They were written on scrolls of leather, and rescribed many times. The first collective bible would be in the Vatican.

No, there were no writers when God made the world. Most Christians know and accept the stories of creation to be fictional. They were written by exiles during the Babylonian Exile of the Israelites. They were written in the form of inspirational letters to fellow exiles in their time of dying faith. These stories only reveal God inspired possible explanations. However, everything from the story of Abraham and on in the Bible I believe to be true.

You wanted to know the truth... and there ^ you have it .
