I think mine is because I am becoming more and more like Christ all the way through but He has already transformed my Spirit (I am a new creation through Christ Jesus) - so if I totally surrender I will be more like who God intended me to be...

1. If you totally surrender what will you have surrendered too?
2. Your thoughts what do you reckon about my hypothesis?

Can't give an answer based on the movie Fight Club. Never saw the movie; but I will share with you what the Comforter-the Spirit of Truth-the Holy Spirit{Jn 14:16-17;"26")-reveals to us-from God's Holy Word-Bible. *Our conscience is voice of our spirit{that aspect of us which has been Born Again by the incoruptible seed-that is the Word of God: in our conscience is where the Spirit of Truth -the Holy Spirit of GOD - speaks to Born Again believers leading and guiding us by the Peace of GOD. "Jesus-the Word-is our Peace!" GOD encourages His children with these words in His Holy WORD: "*Let the Peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ-Rule {Act as Umpire continually) in your hearts [Deciding and Settling with Finality ALL Questions that Arise in your Minds, in that Peaceful State] to which as [members of Christ's] one body you were called [to live]! And be Thankful (appreciative), [giving Praise to GOD always]! *And let the word [spoken by] Christ (the Messiah) have its home [in your hearts and minds] and dwell in you in [all its] richness, as you teach and admonish and train one another in all insight and intelligence and wisdom [in spiritual things, and as you sing] psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to GOD with [His] Grace in your hearts." -Col. 3:15-16 *Amplified Bible{of the Greek New Testament of the Holy Bible).

***"Jesus Christ-the WORD-'is' LORD!"***

P.S. - *Have a Fantastic 4th of July.*

Once you surrendered, the Holy Spirit indwelt you and you are hearing your conscience speak to you about right and wrong. Before your surrendered, your conscience was drowned out by your own will. Now God's will is in charge of your life. Keep up on your Christian journey.

When we totally surrender, we are giving up our will for God's will. This isn't always an easy thing to do. It's a daily process that we can only achieve with God's help and strength. I think we will struggle with this until we are in Heaven and finally perfect.

If I have totally surrendered... I will have surrendered my own will- what I want and what I think, or presuppose, I am surrendering my plans for my life- my time, my resourses (sp?) to do what God has already planned for me to do.

I'd say, my subconscious is good because, like you, I am becoming more and more like Christ! Subconsciously- I am searching for Him in everyday life. I am searching for what He would have me do and say and think.

Yes- If you totally surrender you will be more like God intended. But- realize what surrender actually means. People say, "I surrendered to Christ" but really they mean "I want God to bless what I am planning on doing with my life."

a split personality is the result of salvation

the mind creates a new man and an old man deviation and schism

that's why skitzo's gravitate to christianity due to the acceptance of multiple personalities and possessions of devils or jesus as devine and commanded

Well, from an islamic perspective... hmmmm, like i can offer an islamic perspective, or as if there was one perspective,

i try not to see it from a subconscience- what is that? Perhaps you are referring to our human nature, or our original state...

I've told you before that in islam, children are born as muslims, because children are born in a state of purity and innocence (FITRA). Islam is essentially a relationship that you have with God to reinforce that original state of being- i.e FITRA as you grow older.

Because our parents and society compel us into believing in a religion, or we get conditioned to do what is easy, rather than what is right (although what is right might also be easy). So God wants us to believe in Him and direct what we want to be in line with what He wants of us.

So by surrendering.... omg, this is actually a deep part of my answer and i doubt i am qualified to answer it because the islamic perspective its soo interesting but i've never studied islam formally having grown up here in Australia. The word "Islam" means "to surrender" being a verb and a "Muslim" is someone who surrenders to the will of God.

So we say that Adam, and Abraham and Moses and Jesus (peace be upon them all) were Muslims- they lived by example, and they taught people to surrender to the Will of God. The Fact that Christians want to 1) follow Jesus' example and 2) surrender to God is evidence of that fact.

You dont have to be "a Muslim" to be "muslim"!! Its a state of being that you enter.

When converting to islam, You say "i believe in God (alone), and that Muhammad is his final messenger (and christians add: "and that Jesus was His prophet and messiah")"

but you need two witnesses or More, because Entering into islam, you enter into a covenant or contract with God, Its a relationship that you have. This is getting into theology and i'm really not qualified to go any further- im really sorry Abbassangel

i absolutely agree with your hypothesis: Every step you take on the path to God, God will Run towards you (i.e Make it easier to have a relationship). If you Totally Surrender then you will be doing what you believe God wants you to do- but what does that mean?

See, Muslims believe that children who grow up on desert islands are muslim, so are inanimate creations and even living creations of God like Animals. Why? Because they are doing what any in their position would be doing.

So there's two levels of submission, im conjecturing here, one- based on our natural state. and two: based on revelation- to achieve higher state of submission...

like the angels are in a state of submission, but that is their natural state, We on the other hand, as people of revelation (muslims and christians) have a higher onus of submission because we can excercise free choice granted to us by God.

The prophet Muhammad also says: "whoever forces himself to be patient, Allah will make him patient"

he also said the thing about God coming closer..... one of the things that makes us closer to God is the prayer in the night- something jesus also showed Peter and recommended to him, also the falling down on your face in submission to God. Where you symbolically elevate your heart over your head. (it has a medical benefit, but we emphasise its symbolic nature in the prayer as that is when you are closest to God)

(The Quran says: "O you who believe, enter in Total (and Absolute) "submission" and do not follow the way of the devil" )

I think your hypothesis is in line with What jesus taught- you want to willingly submit- that is your inner being wants what God wants.

the 2nd order of submission can be swayed by: misguidance and insincerity and these are very destructive and dangerous forces that can corrupt our relationship with God. That is why the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) warned us about satan saying: "he might not misguide you in the large things (i.e belief in God, angels, day of judgment etc) but he will try to misguide you in the smaller things"

I hope you can see where there are similarities between our religions.
