Every time I turn on PBS, they're talking about some non-Christian cult, some "ancient" people that supposedly lived "thousands" of years ago, some fossils that supposedly came from animals that lived "millions" of years ago, or some scientists' wild guesses about a Godless universe. On top of all that, PBS is airing a "History of Disbelief", a documentary about atheism, in July.

Doesn't this disgust you? As if there isn't enough Satanic influence coming into our homes from FOX, NBC, ABC and CBS!

All this reminds me of II Timothy 3:1-5:

"But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them."

I've seen so much hatred amongst the divisions here and it's really fruitless. If you are a person "of the cloth", no matter what your faith, judging others and making assumptions about people you really don't know is not a loving thing to do? So, why are you doing it? In my mind, it makes you "blind" to the truth we are all connected and your judgments do nothing but detract from your intentions. So, if the one leading is "blind", then your followers will be "blind" to? Agree?

If you had a way to KNOW, with absolutely certainty and evidence, somehow--let's just use a stretch of imagination for the sake of scenario here--if your belief was true or false (and I mean in terms of correctness, not conviction)...

Would you take it?

...teach that Native Americans are the descendants of Asian peoples, not Hebrews?
...teach the Bering Strait Hypothesis?
...teach the exact location of Kolob?
...teach true Bible history and ways that Biblical scholars can determine the Book of Mormon is false?
...teach religious studies courses without Mormon opinion being involved?

just curious...it is a university after all, i'm just wondering if the students get a legit/truthful education there?

Clue:

You can use your heart to answer this, or you can research the original meanings of Jesus' words.

First of all, let it be known that I'm not generalizing anyone here. I'm just curious as to those ones who believe their scripture was literally written by or totally inspired by God, thereby making it God's word.

Mainly, this is directed toward Christians, because I have more knowledge of the Holy Bible than I do the Qur'an, or any other books. Though those from other religions are welcome to comment, as long as they elaborate. Be sure to mention which one you adhere to, though.

Along with your answer, I'd be curious to know WHY you think it is true, and why you might think it's the 'one true path'.

On an even more curious level, for those of the Christian faiths, how do you go about rationalizing such atrocities as God-condoned rape, slavery, sexism, cannibalism, murder, genocide, infanticide, the condemning of homosexuality, and animal and human sacrifice in the Bible, if you believe it is the true word of God?

By your way of thinking everything would be a hodge-podge of animal parts.

Why don’t we see horses born with tusks or a trunk?

Or people waking up one morning with wings or fish scales?

1. God LOVES you and offers a wonderful PLAN for your life.

"God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life" John 3:16.

Why is it that people are not experiencing the abundant life?

2. Man is SINFUL and SEPARATED from God. Therefore, he cannot know and experience God's love and plan for his life.

Man Is Sinful
"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23.

3. Jesus Christ is God's ONLY provision for man's sin. Through Him you can know and experience God's love and plan for your life.

"God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" Romans 5:8.

4. We must individually RECEIVE Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; then we can know and experience God's love and plan for our lives.

"As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name" John 1:12

Example: someone posts a question with no obvious demeaning and people feel it demeans others, when it doesnt. Have you ever wondered they might be doing it with good intentions and not really ANY demeaning?

1) Atheists and evolutionists say everything was formed out of nothing to become everything. 0+0=1
2)Christians says God is three but one, and one but three. 1=3 and 3=1

3)Muslims says God is One and Only One. He is equal to Him only and nothing else is like Him. He is Unique & ONE AND ONLY ONE. 1=1

I've heard this argued by a local religious group that opposes abortion.

If zygotes were just tiny babies, why were they given the special designation of "zygote"? Were scientists trying to push a pro-choice agenda? In fact, are scientists just pulling one big conspiracy theory against the religious? You know, with evolution and all?

(Happily and sarcastically rampaging.)

i can't help stereotyping people. eg if i see a group of black guys walking down the street i will think 'thieves!' and avoid them.....
if i see an arab man or veiled women i will think 'terrorist!' and won't get on the same bus as them......if i see a jew i will think of him as being really stingy, a bigot and not worth talking to.....but the thing is i don't want to think this way, i want to get on well with everyone, how can i?

tbh i think the media is to blame for all these stereotypes. what do you think?
