Did he get the idea for the odea for the Patriarticle Blessing from Romans 9:5, sound like it to me... "Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of Christ, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen."...

The original Patriachal Blessing was given by Abraham to his sons as kind of a prophesy of what would become of them. The LDS picked up on the Idea and copied it like they do everything else so that that they can make their false church look good. An LDS Patriarchal blessing is totally worthless.

The patriarchal blessing comes from Abraham blessing his son, and his son blessing his son...Actually the first patriarch was Joseph Smith's Father.

When ever he "got an idea" about something, he would first go to the Lord in prayer to find out if this was something that was important and if it was, how was it to be implemented. I was told that this might be one big reason why God had him to his own translation of the Bible, not to "correct" it, but to study it thoroughly and ask about things that he read about.

The Patriotically Blessing is such a obscure LDS teaching I have to wonder were you in the church? I was before Jesus plucked me out and made Himself known to me giving me life by His grace through faith that He gave to me.. This idea of a Patriotically Blessing is one of their ideas that I personally have no trouble with. One of their few tenets that is actually not in conflict with Scripture.. But then again they don't make having one a requirement for salvation.. One of the few.... Jim
