The 4 gospels do contain variances, but since the authors lived within a century of each other, plus the oral and physical histories of the Jewish rebellion, the priesthoods, the Zealots and the Essenes, are all historically verified, there is ample evidence of the ancient source for these records.
The Book of Mormon has no verifiable history, no evidence of the 1000 year civilization as stated throughout the text, and was claimed to be written in an extremely compact writing (more compact than Hebrew) of which 8% of the book is devoted to "And it came to pass..", and has so many anachronisms it's humorous.
So, the answer is quite obvious: Smith, who had nearly memorized the KJV, introduced portions of the bible into his 'story' to give it the biblical perspective he was unable to achieve by himself, plus folklore, anti-masonic rants, political morality plays and some autobiographical myths of himself.
While it is a clever story, it is neither a true history nor anything remotely 'spiritual'.

Since the words used are from individual inspired men we see differnt views and wording from Gospel to Gospel. Mathew isn't a copy of John what isn't the same as Luke or Mark. So your point is well taken. I would also like to point out that even the italicized words appear in the BofM but they are not italicized and no mention as to their inclusion. This I believe is because Smith didn't know that they were not in the original text but were added to make it flow in the correct syntactics in the English language. Smith, though he was very intelligent was unschooled and wouldn't have been aware of that fact when he copied the Bible. The Mormons are always saying they believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly and the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.. NO error.. The these verses show that even the words placed in the text to make it read correctly in English are correct according to the BofM.. All I can say is Mormons really trust the translators of the King James Bible!! Jim

Spiritually speaking, there are seven body parts of the Christian Church/ body. Even so the church is the bride of THE LAMB. These seven spiritual body parts originated from the seven churches in Asia (asia minor-Turkey) that the apostles of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST established after HE ascended to heaven-(house churches) the Ephesus Church, Smyrna Church, Pergamus Church,
thyatira church, Sardis church, Phila church and Laodicia church. The 1st Bishop or head pastor was John (Book of Revelation). After 2,000 years even today, these seven churches grew up and separately worldwide with their own weaknesses, strength, beliefs, practices like under the law or unde grace, etc. Thus, today, the Mormon originated from the Smyrna Church and they worship a GOD who is a meek GOD called the LAMB OF GOD. This relationship is between the Meek GOD and the meek men called the saints as they purportedly claim for themselves. This church is the life of the Christian body such that when the blood of the saints are poured down to the ground, the blood nourishes the growth of the church in that frontier area. But this Church, the Mormon church is not perfect with GOD's comment that they are not courageous to be matyred but instead they cower in fear in the Cities in comfort and convenienc contradistinctive to their calling for martyrdom. Thus, evens so, the Book of the Bible and the Book of Mormon and also the Book of Koran and its Book of Hadith are one of the many Books that were opened in heaven during the heavenly assembly in celestial heaven before time began among the Prophets and Saints with THE LORD JESUS CHRIST (Dan 7:9-10) as their LORD and GOD. Pls read on to see further how various christian Churches fit into the one christian body through the very visible commonness of their various books of Faith. But remember that satan is the great deceiver of mankind and the great divider and conqueror of emotions of men. The natural men who are imperfect men are not our enemies but satan and his minions the demons in the persons of the druglords, warlords, armsdealerlords, crimelords, dirtypolitics lords, etc. Thus, satan makes captives of the souls of men and put them into the darkness of prison. Likewise, the Old testament Prophets made numerous prophecies for the future like Daniel, Jeremiah, etc which came true. Thus, the Bible is the Word of GOD. On one hand, Mohammad is a Prophet among the Muslim and in the BOOK OF HADITH, Mohammad prophesied that the LORD JESUS CHRIST will come again to teach Islam which means submission to GOD. The Koran is with the characters of Moses, Virgin Mary, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, THE HOLY SPIRIT, King David, Abraham thus, Koran is not really different from the Bible. Buddha is the Prophet among the enlightened peoples. THANKS GOD; FEAR GOD; PRAISE GOD; GLORIFY GOD; HONOR GOD; LOVE GOD AND WORSHIP GOD. Because Mr. Smith wasn't creative enough to invent the whole lie. It was easier to steal parts of it from existing lies.
