If you had a way to KNOW, with absolutely certainty and evidence, somehow--let's just use a stretch of imagination for the sake of scenario here--if your belief was true or false (and I mean in terms of correctness, not conviction)...

Would you take it?

No, you DON'T know with certainty. No one does. That's the whole concept of 'faith'. If you admit to thinking that you already know the answer, then you are close-minded. Why would you not take the chance?

For those of you who pronounce they are already 100% of the validity of the Bible, I welcome you to answer my other question.

Furthermore, I'd like to know how you think a compilation of books can maintain its validity after going under so many translations, and after having an uncertain amount of books removed.

It takes a rather BIASED mind to have faith, not an open one. If you can't come to the conclusion that there is the POSSIBILITY of that faith being wrong, then faith is simply deluding yourself. What about those who have faith in other gods? To have a truly open mind, you must accept ALL possibilities. How can you dismiss the one that you may very well be wrong?

A delusion is an unshakable belief in something untrue. These irrational beliefs defy normal reasoning, and remain firm even when overwhelming proof is presented to dispute them. That is the very definition of your belief, that you're absolutely right.

Backwards. It takes an open mind to have faith in God, not a closed one. A closed mind rejects the possibility without sincerely investigating, and takes others' word for it without question. We already know, as the answers here indicate.

That is foolish reasoning. One can not make an informed conclusion without putting aside ones biases and studying both sides of an issue. How can you prove something does not exist? I have prove that he exists in that I have experienced him. Have you studied the Bible as much as you have secular test books? Christians have been forced to study evolution and have came to a rational conclusion that God exists, but have many atheist have actually studied the Bible and/or at least evidents for creation. I seem professors so closed minded that they refused to look at the scientific data supporting creationism. (Of course many of them are fearful of loosing their jobs if they accepted the truth.)

For the sake of your scenario, OK, Yes, I would take it. But outside your scenario, in the real world where I live today and could die tomorrow, I already know. It is so hard to explain to someone who does not believe, but I have had so many answers to prayer, and my walk with the Lord is so real in my daily life, that I have all the proof I need. I would like to share my walk with you. Contact me if you desire. In His Love.

My belief is true, I am a living proof of the God I serve and there is nothing I have to imagine because He is real and living in me.

We live by faith, not by sight. (2 corinthians 5: 7)

I already know with certainty...there is no doubt of the Bible validity. This is because I have an open mind.

It's ironic how so many people who claim to be open minded can be so closed-minded to the truth.

Wow Christians, you sure are disappointing on this one! Why don't you stop (for once in the past 2000 years) with the "Because I just know!" bit and offer up some evidence?

I already know. That's what prayer is for. God doesn't want His people left in the dark.

The problem is, some people don't want to do what they read so their prayers aren't answered by God. There's another being that can lead those people astray.
