Anyone can believe how they want to ,But let me tell you that religion is the opposite of Jesus.Jesus is gentle.Religion is harsh.Religion is who man thinks God is and that is just not who He is.Jesus is love and kind and compassionate. The religious top dogs crucified Jesus.Even though He did it willingly.Thay hated Jesus. Many churches jam their beliefs on people and all that does is make people feel bad. When I get through having church with my prayer partner I am high on life and Jesus. That is because we glorify Jesus and let the Holy Spirit do His work through us.I used to leave church feeling worse than when I went in.This is not all churches but the majority. This is why people turn to all kinds of crazy religions.and many just do not believe.Jesus is the answer not religion. This is the truth.and it is here for all to see all over the world.Jesus did not act like the religious leaders when He was on earth. There is your proof.Plain and simple.

A question for muslims why do you believe your right ?
couldn't it just be man made like all other religions created by to satisfy there need to have an answer for the unknown. How come you claim love and peace when you are killing each other yet you want the whole world to follow you when you don't follow the true teachings of the quran but just define them as you please.
P.S. I am a muslim but not a fantic. Just a normal American!

Not as bad as reworking Heracles into Samson or Ishtar into Esther, but definitely more obvious.

How much of Christianity would the Christians still have if the Pagans wanted their Gods and celebrations back?

There goes December 25th.

I just asked a question:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070615134830AAiCX2O&r=w

And in it, I mentioned that theists don't have to worry about STD's. And people attacked that statement, saying we DO have to worry about them!!

Now, I can't speak for ALL theists, but I do know that Christians are only supposed to have sex with one person: your spouse.
So, if you only have sex with your spouse, and your spouse only has sex with you, and neither of you were born with STD's (a safe assumption, assuming your parents were also good Christians)
AND, since only 2% of AIDS cases come from anything other than sex or drugs
http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/topics/surveillance/basic.htm#exposure

Then....

WHERE DO THE STD'S COME FROM???

I guess atheists failed Biology class!!!!!

Across an hour here and an hour there this afternoon, I tried my level best to bring forth honest, straight answers to questions addressed to fundies. It was hopeless. Inevitably, those who focused on the question at all, either sent me long quotes from the Bible or danced around the minutiae in my question. For example, after asking about atrocities recorded in the Bible, I mentioned galaxies and stars. Guess what the answer to the entire question was: 'galaxies' are not mentioned in the Bible--as if stars, which God created as a kind of afterthought, are not a part of galaxies, as ours is. It's really rather sad, you know? They believe with such fervor but clearly know little about what it is they believe in.

I know in the past I have been guilty of just trying to vindicate my own perspective and limited understanding of truth.

Once I really started searching I found this saying to be very true: "The truth shall make you free"

So 1. Who thinks they're actually looking?
2. Who thinks the average person is really looking?

And I think even you Christians will have to agree that that statement is correct, whether you like it or not...

My question is this: Does it truly make sense to you that there is a god somewhere that literally only cares about ONE thing... that you believe he exists? And he has purposely made it hard to believe he exists, by introducing contradictory facts such as scientific principles, natural laws, etc...

That really is what it boils down to, so don't try to spin this. You know as well as I do that Christians don't believe that good works will get you into heaven.

I can be the most honorable and cherished human being on the planet, but according to you... because god has successfully hidden himself from me... I deserve eternal punishment in hell?

I'd love to hear this rationalized folks...

I am agnostic and persuadable.
The question is are you familiar with the similarities between Jesus's life and death and ressurection and the apparent passage of the Sun throughout the year?
Finding out about it would not question your faith in any way, and maybe strengthen it.
I knew about it vaguely for a long time, but thanks to the web, and discriminating research, have now more exact info, it's fascinating.
Anyone with links, I'd be grateful.
