I am agnostic and persuadable.
The question is are you familiar with the similarities between Jesus's life and death and ressurection and the apparent passage of the Sun throughout the year?
Finding out about it would not question your faith in any way, and maybe strengthen it.
I knew about it vaguely for a long time, but thanks to the web, and discriminating research, have now more exact info, it's fascinating.
Anyone with links, I'd be grateful.

juicygirl seems to sum up a sad thing in asking why she should care about the Sun, it is the Sun, in the temporal world at least, that literally gives us life,
or were you joking?

Super Bobo, thanks for the links, I've had a quick look, and they look properly researched, and interesting, I'll go back later.
I suppose the crux of the matter is whether the heavens reflect what is going on on earth, that would imply that Earth was the centre of things in the universe.
I tend to think it's the other way round, and Jesus is one of many mythological figures who represent the Sun, and that other astronomical phenomena come into the story because that was all our earliest anscestors had to look at at night, they were the celebrities of their day, literally. I know the nearest I have come to a religious experience was a whole night, in a wilderness, spent just looking at the stars, and seeing the Sun rise.
But I might be wrong.

Well, the only problem with it is the Sun has nothing to do with your search for eternal life. The Sun was created by the Son.
As an agnostic, you believe there is a God based on all the proof around you, however, you do not think that God can be known personally. Jesus revealed, not only a personal God, but a God that wants to be to you as a Father. This goes way beyond anything a similitude to our closest star could divulge.
The Sun was created to keep us alive while on this planet, Jesus came to give us eternal life when we leave it.

I can't recall where it is in the bible, but there is a scripture that says that nature and the created things of this world are a testimony that reveal the truth of God (paraphrasing). In other words, it is the sun that gives the testimony of Jesus Christ not the other way around.

Well, in fact, the Father of the Church (I'm not talking about the jews apostles, but talking about the ones who followed them and were initially pagan) used, in those early days of Christianity, this very ancient and popular pagan belief to prove the divine nature of Jesus. They used this allegory because they need to convert multitudes of pagan. In fact, December 25 was the date in which this ancient belief was celebrated among the pagans and it was called "Solcistio de Invierno" (I forgot the term in english, but I remembered in spanish). The Fathers change this pagan celebration and transformed it into the day when Jesus was born. Sun, in pagan terms, signified to them light, life and joy. And Jesus signifies the same to the christian.

Naturally the great events of the ministry of Jesus were tied to the great feasts of the Jewish year and here the moon was (and is) very important. You might be interested in this link, exploring the role of both moon and sun in the Jewish calendar. http://www-istp.gsfc.nasa.gov/stargaze/Sjewcale.htm

I'd be interested in hearing more about this, as well. What did you research to find similarities? Are there any books or links you previously used before asking this?

the similarities between Jesus life and death is Jesus was born to help others and save the world and he died saving the world and for our sins.and Jesus life he gave alot of miracles and when he died he gave another and a bigger miracle. and its the reason why Jesus is called the king of kings and lord of lords.

It wouldn't surprise me at all. I haven't looked into this topic, but it sounds interesting.
God is a God of order. I'll look for info. He is also the Creator.
