A lot of them are very giving. Quakers and Buddhists do a lot of good in their communities and in the world.

There is a lot to admire about other people's beliefs and religions: the peace of Buddhists, the passion and love for God of the Jewish people, the faithfulness of Muslims, and the sheer enjoyment that Pagans and Wiccans take in their religious practices. And even though it's not a religion, as some claim, I admire the intellectual searching and desire for the truth of the Atheists.

If I had to belong to another religion, I'd probably choose Judaism. My own Christian beliefs have their beginnings in the Jewish religion, and it's closest to what I profess now. A second choice would be Buddhism because it is a religion of peace and respect for others -- things that I value very highly.

Good question, by the way!

I admire a lot of things about other people's beliefs and religions. I like the way Hindu's hold their services, I am fascinated with how adamant Muslims are with their faith and how often they pray, I admire Buddhists way of thinking and how they look at the world so peacefully. I admire the way Christians help with missions in poor countries. I admire other Pagans and how they view the world around them and the peace that they tend to live in because they incorporate nature in all that they do.

I'll put some things, but note that I am speaking of people who are really into their faith, not just the casual, pay lip-service to feel better about themselves folks.
I admire how Judaism can provide such phenomenal scholars.
I admire how hospitable and friendly Christians can be.
I admire how devout Muslims are.
I admire the patience and compassion of Buddhism.
I admire the spirt of the Hindu's.
Finally, I admire the guts of Atheists (takes a lot of "cajones" to proclaim atheism, especially in a Christian country like America).

I have always admired the Buddhists and their philosophical world view of reality. It is based on total acceptance of "what is" because what is happening in your life, good or bad, is the direct result of your actions in this life or previous lives. That's why there is the wheel of Karma, to keep coming back until your soul has developed to a high state that allows you to be in Nirvana......a state of unconscious life until the time comes when it is your turn to be the Supreme Consciousness in Universe. Buddhism is not a religion and does not recruit people into their ranks using the fear tactics of an angry God. Buddhism is a real world philosophy of atonement and peace that attracts wise and humble people to begin with..... and their twelve Sutras, which are like the ten commandments, are superb in their high moral quality and wisdom. Buddhists don't recruit, they accept all who are called. I am a Buddhist .......Peace to all sentient beings.

I love the Muslim's call to prayer. It is very beautiful.
I love the Hindu Gods and Goddesses adorned with flowers.
I love the idea of confessing and the feminine power of Mary in the Catholic faith.
I love to watch the inner joy expressed on a born again Christian's face.
I love the concept of karma that is taught in Hinduism and Buddhism.
I love the idea of making spells and the strong feminine power in the Wicca faith.
I love the belief in family, spirit guides and being conscious of Mother Earth in the First Nations' beliefs
I love the questions of an Atheist and an Agnostic which push people's buttons.
And last but not least, I love how science is used to explain miracles

I appreciate the family focus the Mormons and JW's have.

I don't agree with either on most points.

Some of the Eastern Religions have a great idea, focusing on peace and harmony, etc. And then you hear about Hindi crowds killing Muslims, and Militant Buddhists attacking someone else.

Atheism (although not a belief system or religion) because they have no afterlife, they make the most out of every day.

Buddhism- working on one's self.. being at peace.. meditation

Polytheism- you get to work with a bunch of gods/goddesses.

Judaism- the preservation of an ancient culture.. very cool. I also like the way they all help one another and consider each other family, even if strangers.

Islam- the bravery it takes to be a muslim in western society.
(non-fundamentalist)

Catholics- their charitable nature.

As a child and teenager I admired the morality and kindness of Christianity as it was taught to me in Sunday School, and I thought that the importance of Christianity WAS its offering to us of an ethical way of life, and not at all its "promise" of heaven. Still, that admiration could not prevent my skepticism of Christianity as a belief/faith, and, when I grew older, more and more I questioned its fundamental dogma, until, when its adherents became an antagonistic political force in our country in their efforts to legislate their beliefs and to abolish our Constitutional rights, I could no longer support Christianity because I felt totally alienated from it.

I like the peacefulness of Buddhism and the way they give back to the community. I like the beauty of the way Hindu gods are represented. I agree with Kallan in that I like that in Atheists' lack of belief in an afterlife they live each day to the fullest. I like Christians message of love everyone, and Catholicism's charitability. I like the celebrations of Judaism, and the way the have preserved their culture for such a long time.

I have respect for various different people of all different religions and beliefs especially when they live their lives according to the things that their religion teaches. And yes every religion has good qualities and people who actually follow the teachings of their religion just as well as there are bad seeds in every religion as well as non religious groups. I have respect for people who follow their hearts no matter how ridiculous it may seem to others. I also have respect for those who have respect for others regardless of what religion or non religion they claim.
