Considering that totally sober and, supposedly, intelligent people can easily break into an argument over religion and start wars, order the mass murder of people under the guise of religion and do many other 'horrible' things in the name of the Lord, the worse thing to do is get drunk and then try and debate the topic...imagine what could happen then

I am a Christian, and I can talk religion with you just fine straight, no need for drugs or drink. I as a Christian can do anything I want. I want to live right, I dont want to drink or get drunk. I am very happy and do my best every day to live right and praise God for His grace! Wanna talk? Let me know!

PS One of your answers from someone else, said they were 'religious' and like to drink? So why not? Well the why not is this: being 'religious' is NOT being a Christian or believing in anything.. its just an adjective that describes that person. I AM A CHRISTIAN! Its a proper name!! Good Luck!

That maybe the best way. Maybe a few drinks would help bring down some walls. People may not be so tense and defensive of their views. Hope your a happy drunk.

discussing religion is a never ending discussion. it's not a good idea getting drunk and discussing it. hot heads will prevail and God knows where you will be waking up in the morning when you're sober.

i dont want to drink with you neither do i drink but tell you what if u discuss religion and found some faith and walk in it do u think it will please GOD.nope unless u have a relationship with GOD through JESUS no faith,no good works, nothing will even do u good thing but when u have JESUS in you everything will just be awesome.so dont get drunk.dont discuss religion.just get on your knees and pray to JESUS.

infact this is what JESUS said.

Matthew 11[kjv]
28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

JESUS loves you.Have u recieved JESUS for the forgiveness of your sins?

John 3:16[kjv] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

so when we believe in JESUS we have eternal life.JESUS lived a sinless life and gave up his life as a sacrifice so we can be sin free. Ask JESUS to come into your heart and forgive ur sins and cleanse ur past with the blood JESUS shed on the cross.

With a simple prayer like above u can be saved.JESUS loves u and wants u to be saved.

why do you even have to get drunk?

people discuss religion to find meaning most of the time, and there will be no meaning if you are drunk

I would qualify. I love the Lord, and I'll drink anytime I feel like it. I don't feel that drinking is a sin or even being drunk. Now,...being a drunkard who spends his money on alcohol when he should provide for his family....that's a sin.

Of course not. A Christian is not to get drunk. I'd be happy to discuss it sober though.

sure...nothing wrong with a drink or two...

Just if it is done in excess...

Now, what is excess...if we are sitting on the deck, and not driving anywhere...not insulting other's...then probably doesn't matter what is in excess...as long as we don't do it every day, or spend our last dollar on the drinks...

So, heck yeah...actually, I am going to have a martini as soon as I get off of work...come on 5 o'clock
