You can continue on the same road you always travel, to do Each day you can choose the same things you've always done
or you can turn on a new path?

I seem to be aware of all the side roads lately.
It is distracting, it is maddening.

the pope has his own army.. have jesus had that thing? jesus has his state and crowd ect..... what kind of vicarius de jesus christus.. if I am not wrong.. is that man? I am catholic but I can't accept the Pope as that kind of man and to see all these bishops in beautiful cars arriving to the vatican, when jesus was poor and humble,, I believe in the catholic doctrine but not our leaders.. meanwhile a lot of catholics suffering in the world, and the pope living as king and his bishopss!!! what a contradiction with gospel?!

Ephesians 4:32 says, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you."
How would you describe the way God has forgiven us? (Consider Psalm 103:10-12)
10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve
or repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us

How should His forgiveness affect the way we deal with those who sin against us?

When I am saved what are the next steps. And i do not mean just reading the word and praying and going to meet with other christians. What is the intrinsic things taking place within my being. What is God's goal in saving me. Is it just to find out what my gift or ministry is and serve in that capacity? Is it just to preach the gospel and demonstrate God's love to others? Is it just to live a good life and die and go to heaven? Or is it for something more. Is this all that there is?
I do believe that there is more to it that just this.
Your thoughts!

If I believe in God and live a good christian life and my husband does not, does that mean that we will be separated in eternal life. I would be so sad to go to heaven without him, I can't imagine being happy.

For those who like to dive below the surface. Is there a rhythm, cycle, or tide effect you've noticed when you're participating here? In other words, does that 'sense of knowing' (whatever you might call it) that you rely on for your questions and answers come and go like the tide? Is there a best time for asking or answering? Do you stand under the light perpetually or as the world turns? (dark to light, light to dark, dark to light) What's your pattern? Are you aware of a rhythm? Is it hourly, weekly, monthly, yearly, or at your command anytime you desire? Are you aware of the rhythms and cycles of other Avatars? Are there others here that you walk, run, dance or 'fight' in time with or do you follow the beat of a different dummer? I'm talkng about those times when the knowledge and words seem to flow out effortlessly. Those times when there's so much inspiration that volumes could be written. Or am I just imagining it?

But not Christianity?

Yes, I'm speaking directly to christians again. Some of you say you've studied your religion and found it to be true. I think you just investigated the bible from bible-believing sources such as the Christian Science Monitor or other religious based sources. If you perform an objective search of the history of the Jewish and Christian religions, you find that the evidence points elsewhere. You find that most of the stories originated elsewhere, and that neither is historically accurate, although they do use historical events as backdrops. It's akin to writing a WWII novel using historical characters and events, just changing the names to prevent being sued. But somehow you all seem to miss this. So again, I ask, have you really searched for truth, or have you simply searched for confirmation of what you think you know? Why is it so hard to look objectively for the truth about your religion?

If we are to try and gain more acceptance and understanding, please do not simply assault theists with name-calling. It is not an effective way to gain acceptance and fight the prejudice against us. I urge you to engage in serious debate and use logic and reasoning to explain why we do not believe in God. And also, don't just say "the bible is fiction". Provide your reasons. When we use our logic, the theists have a much harder time arguing against us and we then start to gain others understanding of our beliefs. And that, I believe is what we want most. We don't have to respect belief in the supernatural but namecalling and weak declarations are our biggest obstacles for getting theists to actually listen to and consider our reasoning with an open mind.

I've just seen a lot of it here and I think it is counterproductive to our cause. Thanks.

freedom of speech does not mean freedom to insult, for one. But give me your definition of what you think freedom of speech is.

the dixie chicks saying they were ashamed bush came from texas was NOT freedom of speech. Turning your back on the flag during the pledge of allegiance IS.

just an example of what I feel.

I hear so many times of someone that claims to love jesus yet needs to ask jesus for forgiveness of sins they commit. Please do not say they are human. If they know and love god they would not ever sin.

So I was reading Genesis last night and I noticed that in the very begining when its talking about how "God man heaven and the earth" yadda yadda yah, theres a quote from God that says something along the lines of "I will make man in our image." The thing im courious about is that fact that he said OUR, rather than MY. I'm not sure which line it is exactly, but I know for sure he clearly says man will be made in our image. Who is he speaking to?? Wouldn't God have been the only being in existance in the very begining of time?

1) Bible thumpers can pass on this one, please. I ask for genuine answers, not memorized ones and insensitive legalistic jargon.
2) And pro gay people: the key word here is "WANTS TO", not "forced to". This is asked about gays who desire change for their own reasons. This is not meant to be about all the rest who are fine with their lifestyle.
