we do have, but it is not written on paper, or printed in book, we have the words of God written in our hearts.

You have to understand the bible was our way of keeping history. Many people have put their dirty little fingers in the making of the bible for their own hidden agendas. Our modern history is continuing on but our history is no longer recorded in a bible but in historical books. Today the race that seeded man speaks to man through modern day Prophets but the modern man that only reads the bible from a primitive perspective will be miss lead when the new spiritual leader arrive. You have to get your head out of the bible and spend more time researching what is going on with this planet today to fully recognize when the next prophet will arrive. He may be hear now.

The Bible as we know it, all 60 plus chapters was written over a long period of time by many God-inspired, writers, at least 4 of whom, Mathew, Mark, Luke, John, and Paul actually knew Jesus personally. While many present day Christians talk the talk and may walk the walk...and "know" Jesus...obviously they didn't know him from being His deciples, among the Twelve. Present day Christians, theilogians, and believers have re-translated old scrolls and reworded the old King James Version we have all come to love- for the sake of modern language clarity.
Bottom line is, God loves us but dispensed His word long ago through the prophets like John the Baptist and others.

Even though the Bible had been finally put together around 400AD most people at that time could not afford a Bible, even if they could read.

It wasn't until the printing press was invented by Johann Gutenberg in 1450 that Bibles could be produced cheaply enough to mass market them.

In many ways, it could be argued that even though the Bible was written a long time ago, it has only been truly available to the average person for about the last 400 years.

Sorry, not sure what exactly your question is. Do you mean a bible that is like a diary? Written in each day? Who would write it? God? Of course if God didn't write in the bible every day there would be another war over who was qualified to write in the bible if God wasn't able to spare the time to do so. Wow that's a really BIG question. Not sure what else I could think of to say on the subject. It does bear some real think time for sure.

We do have new translations, its a personal choice which one you will read. We don't need a modern BIBLE because its as true today as it was then.Everything you need to know to lead a happy, prosper, and fulfilled life is already there, nothing man can add to it.Its just sad that many people can not see this and are in continual strife over it.Also I think we all need to study all books of the bible not just a few, which seems to be the case lately in most churches. As to the books that got left out yes there are thing to learn but mostly they make divisions and that is not what God intended in his word.So it will always be debated. Thanks for your question

Because the Bible was written to speak of the lives of people who lived many years ago. Would Christ have lived 100 years ago, we would have a more contemporary account.

Too, the Bible was written over many hundreds of years; when Christ was written about, other parts had already been around for hundreds or thousands of years.

We don't have a new Bible because Christianity is an old religion.

Because the Bible is largely the history of man and God's dealings with man.

If it were written today it would be altered history written from the perspective of the modern day.

The Bible is what it is. Any attempt to make it something else diminishes it's credibility.

There is another Testament of Jesus Christ...written for our day!
It is called the Book of Mormon.
And the answer to this question is answered in detail in 2 Nephi ch. 29.

And not only that...just as in the former days they had prophets to lead them...for ex: (Noah, Isaiah, Peter, etc...)
We also have a living prophet to lead us and teach us in our day also...Gordon B. Hinckley.
People just need faith to believe it!

The Book of Mormon is not a replacement for the Bible...we still believe in the Bible (esp. the King James version which we use) but the Book of Mormon is additional (written specifically for our day!)

The old one will suffice. If somebody wrote one now, like the Book of Mormon for example, it would contain heresy. There's nothing more that needs to be added to the Bible, so the only reason for adding more is to justify some sort of sin.

Because the old one works fine. Think about it, the Good Book has been translated into a bajillion different languages and distributed all over the globe. What would we do if a new Bible was written? We'd have to start all over.
