I have had much fun on Y/A, and truly have enjoyed all the answers, including the critical, enlightened and jokesters alike. There are some really funny and intelligent anonymous people on here and since I love all people on this little earth, I want you all to know that I enjoyed each and every one of you, regardless of religion, belief or social status. I am an athiest, but that does not define me as I have so many other attributes which to define and make me happy. Apparently, some people have been a little too serious or not open to other beliefs and I am probably going to be violated out of existance. I guess then, that this is my self-penned eulogy. Since I have to ask a question, my question is.. why do people take yahoo answers so seriously?
Goodbye all, and never to return....?

"The little faith I used to have has been completely shattered. If God existed, He would have certainly not permitted that human beings be thrown alive into furnaces, and the heads of little toddlers be smashed with gun butts or shoved into sacks and gassed to death."

This was taken from the diary of 14 year old Rutka Laskier. She was a victim of the Holocaust.

I could not agree with her more, how could god let this happen to six million Jews?

I always hear protestants saying that Catholics aren't Christian, or that they worship idols (They don't, the saints are just people who were very close to god. Catholics ask Saints to pray to god for them, since the saints are closer to him). I have met a few Christ like people (people who follow the teachings of Jesus that are recorded in the book of John) and 90% of them were Catholics. In fact, many of the nicest Christians here are Catholics, take Debra M as an example. Why all of the hatred for one of the oldesf Christian churches in the world?

Whenever a christian does something publicly that is bad, nasty, horrible etc.Other christians first defence of their faith is to say.
"He/She isn't REALLY a christian"
Yes they are and no amount of denying can ever change that fact.
A prime example is Adolph Hitler.
Monster - Yes
Tyrant - Yes
Murderer - Yes
Christian - Yes
Can you not accept that some christians are not all sweetness and light?

more credible than all others.

the appeal of the contents.
easier to follow.
hearing voices.
????

curious that some theologians avidly believe a particular doctrine, yet deny any credability of others with absolution, while there is just as much evidence of thruth for their own.

or claim that all other belief or non-belief followers are secretly worshiping satan.

what is your opinion?

A question and anwer section about spirituality and religion has so many atheists and agnostics responding to questions. Christians are called dogmatic and narrow minded, yet athiests and agnostics are the same way. Ironic. Why do you anwser questions about god and spiritual matters when you dont even care? If you think it is frustrating to Christians or you are going to change Christians minds, get over it.

I asked a similar question earlier, and for some reason mostly got answers saying "satan".

I'm genuinely curious on what people think about this.

Both have potential to impact on all of us, and to a degree already have done.

One of the scariest things I think, is the potential for religious fundamentalism from both christians and muslims to interfere with the world uniting as it needs to for the sake of dealing with the climate change issue.

What are your thoughts?

Which poses the greater threat to humanity from these two issues (please, no "satan" answers this time, that's an answer to a completely different question.)?

Will one problem prevent us from dealing properly with the other?

Or will we rise to the challenge of both issues and put them behind us within a lifetime?

Subject: tell me how believing in nothing makes any sense?

Message: here you are walking every day on the earth that God made..and seeing the many wonderful things he made for the pleasure of the eyes to see, and yet you are a Athiest.. im not a very intellegent person and it don,t take a rocket scintist to convince me that the earth was made by a powerful spirtual force that is beyond my understanding...have you ever seen your brain? answer of course you haven,t ..but because you haven,t seen your brain that don,t mean your lacking a brain... so just as you haven,t seen God with your natural eyes doesn,t mean there is no God.. by being and Atheist you have sealed your fate to the eternal fires of hell where the eternal fires are never quenched and the soul of lost people spend endless ages..woman i would advise you to accept the truth that there really is a intellegent and loving God..who blessed you with those kids.. and you dont even thank him

Can God make a shape that is 100% square and 100% circle?
Can God make a body that is 100% elephant and 100% cat?
Can God make a being that is 100% God and 100% man?

If the first two are impossible, why isn't the third?

((rephrased and reposted))

Is this only an attempt to strengthen your beliefs through using each other as a foe to blind yourself from thought?
