don't have a clue why. We should wait till they are old enough to make up their own mind?"

I get your point. As baptism replaced circumcision as the new covenant, there should not even be an issue about babies being baptized.

Bexause it is as much an act for the parents as for the baby. On top of that- the reality is that it is much safer when it is done to a baby than to a teenager or adult. For a baby it is a minor act, even in hospitals it is done quickly and with the minimum amount of fuss- an adult needing a circumcision generally undergoes a full anaesthetic with the inherent dangers that come with it- and with a much longer recovery time. And somethings the parents need to do for the child to demonstrate that they, too are bound by the laws. By circumcising the child in accordance with the law- it is teaching the child that we do as commanded, not as we wish to understand the commands, that we are subject to God's rule -not he to our whimsies.

And circumcision is one thing that Jews have stuck with, no matter what. You will find that Jews who keep no other laws will still have their children circumcised. In the Roman era the Romans tried to outlaw circumcision- and the Jews still did it, though being caught meant being killed.

Do u want to know why?
Because Israel is Jews. And they have a superior brain. That`s why they circumcise their baby in the young age.

But don`t misunderstand. I`m a Muslim.

How is cutting off a small piece of skin a pledge to god? And wouldn't this be considered a forced pledge because the babies don't know any better, or can decide for themselves anyway.

Probability says that there had to be at least a couple of Jews who thought this would have been a better idea to wait til the person could choose for themselves.

Nothing like a little forced blood and skin sacrifice to your god to show that you care.

And as for it being healthier.......if you'd wash it like your suppose to and wear protection during sex, you won't have to worry about STDs and other bacteria infections in that area. This is assuming you have access to such things as soap and clean water and condoms/etc.

It is a pledge to God, not a matter of personal choice. Lately, it has turned out to be a good thing health-wise, too.
