For example, this country originally had the foundation on God. Now, people try to take out "God" wherever they see it, whether it's on a coin or it's in a court.

1. God LOVES you and offers a wonderful PLAN for your life.

"God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life" John 3:16.

Why is it that people are not experiencing the abundant life?

2. Man is SINFUL and SEPARATED from God. Therefore, he cannot know and experience God's love and plan for his life.

Man Is Sinful
"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23.

3. Jesus Christ is God's ONLY provision for man's sin. Through Him you can know and experience God's love and plan for your life.

"God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" Romans 5:8.

4. We must individually RECEIVE Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; then we can know and experience God's love and plan for our lives.

"As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name" John 1:12

Why do you all not do your homework before electing a label?

...The indictment and prosecution of Greek philosophers is a circumstance which is familiar to us all. Several philosophers, one after another, were indicted by the Athenian Government, on the common charge of introducing strange divinities. Anaxagoras, Socrates, and Aristotle received similiar indictments for a similiar offence. The most famous of these was against Socrates which reads as follows. " Socrates commits a crime by not believing in the gods of the city, and by introducing other new divinities. He also commits a crime by corrupting the youth." THEN, Socrates is declared by Meletus to be an atheist and to corrupt the religion of the young. Taken from "Stolen Legacy pg 29" and Socrates's Defense. The overall meaning being whoever does not believe as we do are Atheists. Also, the Greeks functioned on more levels that you all do, for A = 1 and Theist = God, therefore An Atheist is a monotheist! I've noticed a number of claims of things that are in the bible that ARE NOT. Usually these claims are being made by Christians....

What is the reason for this?

Have they not read the bible (...then where do they get their claims?)
Do they think non-Christians haven't read the bible (...then why do they tell us to?)
Is there another secret Bible only Christians have with things like the definition of marriage being ONE man and ONE woman (unlike the characters in the Bible) or life begining at conception not at the first breath, or other biblical claims that aren't biblical?

Why are they allowed to cherry pick to support their political agendae?

And I'm not even talking about things that require a high degree of Biblical literacy, like knowing sin from the cleanliness code or understanding guestright.

Had this debate in my Ethics class at school, kind of wondering what others think about this thought.

There is a question over abortion being murder. Murder would have to imply that the fetus is alive/human. I wondered when is a human alive. I know that you are legally dead when you cease to have brain function so are you legally alive when you begin to have brain function? And if you are legally alive at the beginning of your brian function then would an abortion be considered murder after this time period?

I am leaving open the idea off an abortion at anytime if a women is raped, incest, or the life of the mother is at great risk.

Please no bible scriptures I know what the bible says about life and I also know that at different times god has killed babies or ordered them to be killed so no religious scriptures just curious about people's real feelings on the aforementioned idea in hopes of seeing our way through to a compromise on the issue.
Thank You all for helping.

I'm new here, only two or three weeks here, and it honestly disturbs me that I've fallen into a habit which doesn't mirror my personality, my sense of the world, my view of who and what I am in life. It ends here, it ends now. I may not agree with you or your religious views...I am a nonbeliever...but I intend to address you with respect and common good manners. I am, after all, very probably a good deal older than most of you, and, too, I've been fortunate in my long life...and my good fortune continues. Please forgive this give-time grandfather's snide remarks. If you knew me, you would know that I am altogether sincere on this.

I am a bit Tired of the MIS-APPLICATION of the Term Atheist! Has ANYONE done the required study before FOISTING this term upon yourself?? It seems that Atheist in todays world are supporting a view that Atheism is a negation of God. The term comes from the word ATHEOS, which the Athenians used to Describe Socrates after he returned from Egipt...where he became an Adept of the Mysteries. The Word Atheist, THEN, is referring to one who believes in God, but in a Non-Traditional Sense.

Being an Atheist Myself, I am appalled at those who have appropriated the Term to mean something it is not.

I mean, if you do not believe there is a God, then WHY spend all of your Time disputing? Do you Dispute the Validity of Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny with one another??

I saw on the BBC panorama programme about Scientology and thought (despite it being rather biased towards the bbc) that scientology is ridiculous and you have to be a nutter to believe it. There was that bloke who had a document made about him and put online because he said bad stuff about scientologists that went through every single bad thing he'd done. My question is how do you get to that stage of having documents made about you and being followed etc?

This is a serious question, by the way--and for the record, I'm not advocating either; I'm honestly curious as to why some (not all) Protestants have commandeered the title of "Christian" for themselves, and themselves alone--to the point where they pretty much interpret "Christian=Protestant". Given that the Catholic church is far older than the Protestant movement, and that most Protestant branches came from Catholicism, isn't that just a bit hypocritical? Also, what about Orthodoxy? Orthodoxy and Catholicism split long before any Protestants were around, and both of those branches are certainly still "Christian"--the term meaning simply someone who follows Christ.

Again--I'm not advocating any faith here; I'm curious to know why, as an objective question, what entitles some Protestants to sideline all other Christians and proclaim themselves the only "true" Christians; that kind of elitist attitude doesn't strike me as being very neighborly nor very Christian, for that matter.
