(Depending on the definition of "God" being discussed)

Have you forgotten to include the apathetic?

Some folks just don't like to participate in the conversation and don't want to plug themselves into any hole.

I also know some deists that would also consider themselves fitting into none of these categories.

There are "non-theists" who simply say it doesn't matter if there is a God. You see this in some schools of Buddhism.

Also, Taoists believe in a higher power but don't define it. They don't say it's God, but they don't say it isn't, either. A matter of definition. They can't necessarily be called "egnostic" because they believe this "something" definately exists.

no, I'd say that everybody is an atheist though... atheists to the gods they dont believe in. and not everybody is a theist or an agnostic toward any religion.

no. atheists don't believe in any god. agnostics believe that god cannot be proven or disproven. theists believe in a god. It is not possible to be all three as they would contradict.

Pretty much....only being atheist has nothing to do with which god is being discussed.

No, everyone'd be very confused in that case. Everyone's atheist, theist or agnostic.

I think believing in a non-deity force at work would be none-of-the-above, wouldn't it? So certain pagan beliefs of life invested in all things would be different.

Nope.

POLYtheist and "theist" are two very different things.

There's also pantheist, panENtheist, and HENOtheist . . . and all of those mean something quite different from "theist" as well.

"Nontheist" might be a better term than atheist, since it's a less strict definition.

Well, yeah, everyone would pretty much be one of these three--either you believe in something supernatural, you don't, or haven't yet decided.
