Yes of course. The society will be much better and safer. Did you know that to prove adultery four people have to witness the act? Since the punishment is so severe the proof is also very strict. Also if someone steals something to eat the punishment is not imposed. There is a minimum of what's worth about $20 for the stealing punishment to be imposed. Did you know how many hands were cut during about 400 years of Islamic rule after Prophet Muhammad? Just four. That's four stealing crimes. How many stealing crimes are committed in one year in the US? I think this is enough proof.

This needs some explanation, here it goes.
To prove an adultery case there needs to be FOUR witnesses who saw penetration occur.
All their stories have to exactly the same, if one is different then the case collapses.
The witnesses need to upright, religiously and in other aspects. For example we would not accept the testimony of a person who is a known drunk or does not pray. Or a person who is known to lie.
As you can see there is a lot that is considered before a penalty can be applied.
One of the most conditions is that there need to be a Muslim caliph in power, or his deputy if neither are present then the penalty cannot be applied. There has been no caliph since 1924.
The Ottoman Muslim caliphate recorded everything and there was only 5 cases of this happening in a period of 500 years.
It is notoriously hard to prove. I hope this answers your question, please let me know if i haven't.

Whether Christian or Muslim, I sure wouldn't want to live in that kind of world. I can't even envision a world where I would stand and watch my daughter being stoned to death or killed in some other way because she "dishonored" the family. I think these kinds of punishments are bizarre and barbaric, and the people who advocate them still being used are equally bizarre and barbaric.
I would rather have no religion than believe in that kind of mindless cruelty!

Yes, actually, I do.
And you have something wrong in your additional details. The actual translation was 'Whomever amongst you is without THE SAME sin cast the first stone'. I suggest you delve a bit deeper into your studies of the Scriptures.
Unfortunately from what you said, 'The Christians don't follow the Old Testament, we follow the NEW testament', then you absolutely do NOT follow Jesus(A.S.) but follow the false prophet, Saul of Tarsus, who NEVER met Jesus(A.S.) in person... EVER...
The Beloved Messiah stated that 'Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil'*
He was JEWISH, and thus followed the Original Torah.
You see, the Jewish priests were hypocrites and hated Jesus(A.S.) so they wanted to trap him. If he had chosen to stone the prostitute, then he would be without grace, but if he chose to NOT stone her, then HE would be a hypocrite for preaching the Old Laws...
So he trapped THEM with their corruption, instead. So, sorry, son. False point on your behalf. 3 pointer for me and mine.
Seek more knowledge; you're not ready for power just yet...
Peace be upon the Faithful to the One True God...

I am not Muslim but I confess there are times when I am "tempted" to want the loss of a hand when someone has broken into my house or trashed my truck to get a stereo.
A co-worker of mine was working in the oil patch in Saudi. At a big restaurant he went to the washroom, did his business, washed his hands and forgot his 25,000 dollar Rolex President watch on the sink. An hour and a half later he realized in shear horror what he had done, returned to the washroom and behold, the watch hadn't moved an inch!
As for adultery I always follow the teaching of Christ about casting the first stone and abhorr that punishment but on the other hand, with a 50% divorce rate and family break ups one has to wonder if we as a society should do more to discourage easy divorce in the snap of a finger and not encourage it.

What type of Christians and what type of atheists are you speaking approximately? yet whilst i visit could desire to decide based basically on that sentence, then i visit %. the atheists civilization. A society (incredibly no count if it is began up from scratch with none latest infrastructure to help it) would be so plenty extra effectual off in the event that they concentration their time, potential, and limited components in build up and bobbing up issues which contain a sustainable financial device, education, medical analyze, industry, etc, which will quite strengthen the universal of residing, as a exchange of issues like church homes and temples that are incredibly monsters that eat up great quantity of surplus wealth and components in society for no real reason and would not quite do something to the persons.

Adultery is considered a sin in all religions.
The Bible decrees the death sentence for both the adulterer and the adulteress:
“If a man commits adultery with his neighbour's wife, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death.” (Lev. 20:10).
Islam also equally punishes both the adulterer and the adulteress:
“(As for) the fornicatress and the fornicator, flog each of them, (giving) a hundred stripes, and let not pity for them detain you in the matter of obedience to Allah, if you believe in Allah and the last day, and let a party of believers witness their chastisement.”(24:2).
However, the Qur’anic definition of adultery is very different from the Biblical definition. Adultery, according to the Qur’an, is the involvement of a married man or a married woman in an extramarital affair. The Bible only considers the extramarital affair of a married woman as adultery.
"If a man is found sleeping with another man's wife, both the man who slept with her and the woman must die. You must purge the evil from Israel" (Deuteronomy 22:22).
"If a man commits adultery with another man's wife both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death" (Leviticus 20:10).
“To keep you from your neighbour's wife, from the smooth tongue of the adulteress. Lust not in your heart after her beauty, let her not captivate you with her glance! For the price of a loose woman may be scarcely a loaf of bread, But if she is married, she is a trap for your precious life. Can a man take fire to his bosom, and his garments not burned? Or can a man walk on live coals, and his feet not be scorched? So with him who goes in to his neighbour's wife-- none who touches her shall go unpunished.” (Proverbs, 6:24-:29).
According to the Biblical definition, if a married man sleeps with an unmarried woman, this is not considered a crime at all. The married man who has extramarital affairs with unmarried women is not an adulterer and the unmarried women involved with him are not adulteresses. The crime of adultery is committed only when a man, whether married or single, sleeps with a married woman. In this case the man is considered adulterer, even if he is not married, and the woman is considered adulteress. In short, adultery is any illicit sexual intercourse involving a married woman. The extramarital affair of a married man is not per se a crime in the Bible.
Why is the dual moral standard? According to Encyclopaedia Judaica, the wife was considered to be the husband's possession and adultery constituted a violation of the husband's exclusive right to her; the wife as the husband's possession had no such right to him.
That is, if a man had sexual intercourse with a married woman, he would be violating the property of another man and, thus, he should be punished. To the present day in Israel, if a married man indulges in an extramarital affair with an unmarried woman, his children by that woman are considered legitimate. But, if a married woman has an affair with another man, whether married or not married, her children by that man are not only illegitimate but they are considered bastards and are forbidden to marry any other Jews except converts and other bastards. This ban is handed down to the children's descendants for ten generations until the taint of adultery is presumably weakened.
The Qur’an, on the other hand, never considers any woman to be the possession of any man. The Qur’an eloquently describes the relationship between the spouses by saying:
among His signs is that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that you may dwell in tranquillity with them and He has put love and mercy between your hearts: verily in that are signs for those who reflect" (30:21).
This is the Qur’anic conception of marriage: love, mercy, and tranquillity, not possession and double standards.

What's more of a deterent for stealing?
A.) Doing a few weeks in prison and paying a fine for your lawyer to spring you out.
or
B.) Losing a hand, thus handicapping you for life.
I know I would be less likely to steal if the punishment was more severe.
