Who says they're bad? You'll have to find in the Bible where it says they're bad. If someone points out to you the body being the temple of God then ask them this, "Over eating and being fat desecrates the body of God- are you desecrating it?" In America we choose the ways we're allowed to harm our body and what ways are not socially acceptable. In America we can over eat, pig out, get fat, not exercise, but we're not supposed to smoke, etc. This is dumb and makes no sense!
Besides, use this argument. The church is also known as God's body and his temple- and we adorn that with all kinds of pretty things. You think that getting a piercing is pretty and a great way to adorn your temple. That's a matter of preference. As long as your teachers acknowledge that what they're telling you is a matter of their personal preferences and not a matter of God's truth or "what the bible teaches" than go ahead a listen to them. But, it is up to you to agree or disagree with them b/c getting a piercing is a matter of preference. Also it can be an expression of who you are. I have had an eyebrow ring and might get one again. To me it was an expression that I was different from everyone else and diddn't want to follow the crowd- an expression of my faith. If I got it again it would probably be b/c I thought it looked good on me while I had it. Do your sunday school teachers have ear rings? If they do, then you know that what they're saying is a matter of what is socially acceptable and not an issue of biblical truth.
Good luck!

It depends on what part of your ear you're getting pierced with the gun. It's not bad when you're piercing the lobe. There shouldn't be an issue with sterilization since the part that's actually going through your ear is the stud and therefore is not used again on someone else. The parts that touch your ear are thrown away after use, some places even use "guns" that are completely thrown away after each use. I have four piercings in each ear that were done with a gun and I never had any problems with any of those holes. The problem with piercing guns comes in when you're wanting to have cartilage pierced. The gun will "shatter" the cartilage, which will hurt a lot and have a hard time healing. If you're wanting any cartilage pierced you should definitely go to a professional piercer and have it done with a needle.

Some employers might be uptight about hiring someone who has visible piercings and the church might think you're setting a bad example. Find out if it will affect your job before you do it. In terms of religion I have no idea what the big deal is. Maybe if you get genital piercings it's bad because it might have something to do with sex but that's not what you're talking about. I think the reason is that there is some stigma attached to people with piercings. People think they're deviants and freaks because they have tattoos and piercings.
It's a prejudice that some people have and prejudices are based on assumptions, not fact. I think this an issue with people rather than anything to do with god. Some parents of your students may have a problem with it.
If you want one I don't see why you shouldn't but I guess you will need to be prepared for people's disapproval. It sucks though. Again I think it's people who have a problem with this, not god.

Piercings ARE NOT bad. At all. Trust me, i have 11. if you want to get something done, then do it. If you are concerned about what poeple in bible school will say then wear something small, and not too noticable. piercings are looked down upon by some poeple but if you really think about it, it is just a peice of metal in your skin. No big deal. Honestly, people probably wont say anything to you becuase SO many poeple have peircings.

There's nothing wrong with piercings. Look at the son of Tammy Faye Messner (Bakker, depending on what you Google). He's an extremely upright, Christian man who follows the word of God - and he's tattooed, pierced, whatever.
You don't have to be a stereotype to be a Christian.
PS - If it's that bad, they have clear retainers you can wear after the piercing is healed. Trust me, I know ;)

along with your misspellings and text language you got a part wrong. you are a sunday school student and your mom will not let you get a lip decoration
no one older than 15 writes the way you do. i had to read it 4 times just to understand what the heck you were talking about
and for other people reading this answer and want to know the answer just in case this was real
it is because it makes you look unprofesional. it all depends on what you want to do in life how you look. i do not care if the person that mows my lawn has blue hair and more holes than a chinese chess board (131) but my doctor better not

Are you getting it because your favorite band got a piercing, or because you want to? You may want to be a little wary of piercings, because while they may not be permanent they can leave scars or develop health problems.
I'd suggest finding fake piercings. Try that out & see if you like it. That way you get the best of both worlds: you get to have a piercing, & no one has to know unless you want them to. If you still want it when you are able to get it yourself, then do as you please. Just make sure that it is something that you can remove for work, as your job won't let you wear piercings.

well, look at it this way - you make a whole in your body, and you stick a piece of metal into it thats later heals (or not) together with the metal. The parts of the body vary. Sounds like fun. Now, take s bible and and keep on spreading the nonsense thinking that you are qialified enough to "spread the word of god" . Does that seem like a sensible thing to do?

Unfortunately, some jobs require that you not have metal all over your face. I had fun peircing my face up for a while, but when I chose a career, I realized that it would be pretty hard to get a job as a teacher...so I took the metal out.

In response to your being a sunday school teacher, it states in the Bible to treat your body as a temple.
If you are instructing people in the path of the Lord you need to be aware of your appearance and actions. Perhaps you should seek the guidance of the head of your church on the subject.
