I'm not being offensive I just want to know why people find it difficult to call God our father.

It may be because of the poor example of many earthly fathers.

I prefer to call God, Creator. Although I do understand the Creator as my mother/father, the energy of two forces, coming together in creation. The term 'father' implies the maleness of the Creator, which implies an earthly body ( if understood in the most common way).
The Creator is of spiritual essence, and would not be just one sex, but the energy of both.

Only Christians have the right to call God Father. Others don't need or have to. Most of the time, we haven't submitted ouselves as little children, and therefore cannot bring ourselves to see Him as our Father.

Because he is not my father. My father is a 60 year old flesh and blood human, decended from primates, man. Not some fair tale creature. Calling god my father would be disrespectful to my real father.
