After the pleasantries, of course. What do they say to engage you in conversation?

Why does God allow bad things to happen?
Do you have hope for the future?
What happens when we die?
Who do you think will solve the world's problems?

Then they show the answers from the Bible and read along together.

Each congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses schedules an entire "service meeting" each week, as well as a short "meeting for field service" for each day. These meetings help prepare Witness ministers for the ministry, and sometimes suggest specific topical items to discuss. Otherwise, Jehovah's Witnesses are well-trained and have many tools with hundreds of suggested introductions.

At the least, nearly every introduction seeks to allow the Witness minister to feature at least one Scriptural point of encouragement.

I have never had a JW be rude to me. They usually ask me if I have a few minutes to talk, and I say no. They offer their literature, and I usually take it...doesn't hurt to read what they have to say. Either way, a "no thank you" from me has never been met with anything more than a pleasant "ok, have a nice day" from them.

But because I do not like to be bothered by ANY solicitor, I have both a no soliciting sign and a no religious soliciting sign on my door.

They don't come to my house. I saw them park in the road last week while I was working in my garden. I love conversation,so when they remarked about my garden,I answered with" yeah, there is nothing like the feeling of planting a seed and watching it grow...." certain that would stimulate a conversation. Instead, they said "have a good one" and went and knocked on other peoples' doors(who didn't answer) and left. I felt so "left out" WAAAAH

mmmm i think the last time was they wanted to share a message of family with me and could see family was important to me because of my daughter.

I don't mind them, they have always been polite and considerate when I've told them I'm not interested.

It's the baptists that come to my door that drive me nuts. They don't shut up and I have to shut the door in their faces. I hate beign forced to be rude. (Oh and before I start getting creamed at by Baptists, I'm not generalozing all just the ones that knock on my door)

Actually I don't remember. One came recently but it's the same routine. I want to just not answer the door or slam it right in their face but I am tolerant person so...I let them banter on, say yes and no, let them give me whatever propaganda they have that day, politely say goodbye and chunk their crap in the garbage.

I never pay attention, I am usually thinking about when they will actually shutup and leave. I really don't need any type of religious groups coming to my door trying to recruit me into their cult.

At my house it's usually, "Ouch, you closed the door on my foot!"

I try never to allow the conversation to progress beyond pleasantries. It's an unwinable pathway.

They don't say much. I actually like the approach they use when knocking on my door. They say, "We know you weren't expecting us, so we would like to give you this literature. If you have questions, a contact number is on the back." Then I shut the door.

I don't let them get that far. I have no problem with them, but I don't like to be solicited by anyone. If they happen to get me on a bad day... I tell them I am gay and love men and that I smoke and consume massive amounts of alcohol. Hmmm, after that I don't even get the pamphlet.

we dont ask or beg for money, we commonly ask a viewpoint question and then offer magazines or something that talks about what you asked about. if however the household asks how much it costs we inform them that it is a volountary donation based business and they can donate, if they so desire. we soppurt the producing of these magazines as well
