Why do jw's limit and confine God's glory? If God is master and creator of all days, as in the bible, what is the logic of your policy to secure holidays as "pagan festivals"? Wouldn't it glorify God and place Him back where He belongs if you reclaimed these days and rededicate them in honor of Him and things/about Him?
Why do you insist on affording Satan so much honor and power?
Despite what some people do to the holidays, don't you agree we should try to set things right?

In my last post, someone responded that Jesus died the death we all deserve. I've never heard anyone say that before, so I was just curious if other Christians agreed that we all deserve to be tortured to death?

i am sick and tired of hearing the same thing over and over again. people just giving up on life saying that anyway it doesn't matter how we live our life daily and that we make the most of because the world is going to end, and when i ask why (i recently have been actually told this) is because nation is rising against nation, is in the bible innit... since when for heavens sake have we had a day of peace on hearth??? never!!!! me trying to make him understand all the crap he was talking about was worthless, the fact that you keep contradicting yourself,e.g, says he does not believe in science and dinosaurs, then when asked how come whe have actual proof of dinosaurs he says scientist made the bones because they are clever and deceitful... sorry, but personally such ignorance would deserve a slap. i dont care if people believe in whatever, purple badgers for all i care, but what i do care about is absolute ignorance.wht do u think? does it makes sense to u?

some adamant bible believers say Epic was taken from bible, but I found that Moses took it from existing literature. Funny thing is few could read and write so how could they have known this

in 1800's a young scholar re-discovered stone tablets of poetry which were based on Arcadian stories of 1800 to 2000 BC tales based in what is modern day Iran, Iraq and Syria

George Smith, a self-taught Assyriologist, who one momentous afternoon in 1872 was working at the British Museum, going through a pile of Layard's clay tablets. Suddenly, Smith realized that he was reading about "a flood storm, a ship caught on a mountain, and a bird sent out in search of dry land."

The most common ones people say or think of is Mormons, Scientologist, and Jehovah's Witnesses. But recently I found out about another one called 'The Nation of Islam' that believe the blacker you are the closer to God, and the whiter the closer to the devil. A co-worker of mine told me that her sister is one, and because she is darker than her, curses her and her light-skinned children.

Many cults are destructive, what are some you can think of and the affects they have on people?

I counted the number of people that were killed by God in the Bible. I came up with 2,270,365, which, of course, greatly underestimates God's total death toll, since it only includes those killings for which specific numbers are given. No attempt was made to include the victims of Noah's flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, or the many plagues, famines, fiery serpents, etc., with which the good book is filled. Still, 2 million is a respectable number even for world class killers.

But how does this compare with Satan? How many did he kill in the Bible?

Well I can only find ten, and even these he shares with God, since God allowed him to do it as a part of a bet. I'm talking about the seven sons and three daughters of Job.

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job ... And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters.
...
And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? Then Satan answered the LORD ... put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
...
And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house...And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. -- Job 1:1-19

So it seems that both Satan and God share the blame (or the credit) for these killings. If so, then the tally would be:

killings
God 2,270,365+
Satan 10

It has alot of good proof, i'm curious as to your response. Look at proof #5.

"Whoever strikes a person mortally shall be put to death. If it was not premeditated, but came about by an act of God, then I will appoint for you a place to which the killer may flee. But if someone wilfully attacks and kills another by treachery, you shall take the killer from my altar for execution. "

This says killer's go free? thats odd......

Will the millions of Indians YOU slaughtered BEFORE you told them all about JESUS make it into Heaven?

I tell you this: There are Muslims amongst all peoples...for a Muslim is he who submits his will to God and does good works and takes care of their people and cares for their fellow man more than themselves!

I for one will proud to stand in paradise next to Sitting Bull...whose skull is now the proud possesion of George Bush's secret Skull and Bones club house.

Did you know that Christian torturers of the Spanish Inquisition studied how much skin they could tear off of a victim before they would die?
They also had a device that they would insert in any orifice and then slowly open/expand it via a screw.
These are just a few of many, many monstrous things that people have suffered, in this case at the hands of religion.
Often, this went on for days and days.
Do you honestly suppose that nobody has suffered like your mythos claims Jesus suffered?

The Abrahamic (Judaic, Islamic, Christian) deity, according to many people on Y!A doesn't manifest himself physically to ask people to follow him, but expects people to take the words of other mere mortals about why he should be followed....

According to some of the same people, Satan, on the other hand, can take you over for playing with a Ouija Board, asking questions about other faiths and Trick or Treating on Halloween.

I don't believe in either of these Abrahamic deities, but it seems to me that Satan is far more powerful than his opposite number in the Abrahamic pantheon.

Why aren't people who believe in Abrahamic mythology worshipping the more powerful god, not the less powerful one?

Sometimes pride slips in even when we don't realize it. Honestly, when's the last prideful moment you've had? And how do you deal with it?

Pascal's Wager states that it is a better "bet" to believe God exists than not to believe, because the expected value of believing is always greater than the expected value of not believing. I have a problem with this because I feel like I can't help what I believe. I am agnostic. I believe there is no way to prove God exists or prove that God doesn't exist. What do you think?

think of what would happen if someone who knew the bible better than most shows up and happily points out the inconsistencies and moral dilemmas aplenty

wouldn't that be a good endeavor, invite an intelligent person to come share about the bible and report on their study of the same?
