I've noticed that a common thread among thought-provoking questions is a answerer who invaribly insists, "You're just angry with (my god / my religion) and I pray that you'll (get over it / get a life / realize I'm right)."

Is it really so wrong to be angry with certain religions, or at least with certain interpretations of those religions? I'm angry with fundie Muslims who want to fly planes into buildings, I'm angry with fundie Christians who think that God shouldn't cure kids with cancer because dying kids are "inspiring". I'm also angry with atheists who think whatever terrible things fundie atheists think (I'm drawing a blank, but there's surely some nut jobs out there somewhere).

Is it wrong to be angry in the face of injustice, hypocrisy, and the other bad things that can often be found in religion?

Paul says you have been saved by grace through faith, it is a gift of God, not of works lest you should boast. James says faith without works is dead. How do these two verses fit together?

accept Christ as your savior and honestly seek and work to follow him, accept the bible as God inspired and true,

Then are you a "true christian"?

but... if you decide after a few years you don't believe it, you were never really a true christian?

Is that it?

I keep seeing Christians telling atheists that they couldn't REALLY have been Christians in the past because if they had really truly "gotten" Chrsitianity, they wouldn't have left.

The problem is, it's not unusal to find a Christian who talks movingly about how he/she "used to be" a Wiccan / Muslim / Atheist / Evolutionist / Etc. but now they are a Christian. The message is that they can personally testify as to how much BETTER it is to be a Christian than to be the other thing.

Is it fair, then, to insist that they couldn't have REALLY been this one thing, if they are no longer than one thing? Or can we all agree that people change as they get older and that to hold stubbornly to a creed in the face of all personal experience otherwise is to be intellectually dishonest with yourself?

... as evidenced by speaking in tongues?

"When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them." -- Acts 2:1-4 NIV

In other words, speaking in tongues is evidence for non-believers for the infilling of the Holy Ghost. Why does the Catholic ritual not follow through on calling out to God, until he pours down his spirit?

A lot of times I see Christians tell atheists "if you read the Bible, you'd understand" or something along those lines. The general implication seems to be that atheists are ignorant of Biblical contents. However, in my experience, most atheists HAVE read the Bible extensively - indeed, often they were Christians who left the faith AFTER reading the Bible.

(On a side note, I saw a question this morning where the questioner said that he was losing his faith after reading the OT, upon which several Christians advised him to STOP reading the Bible, haha.)

My question is: How many of the atheists here have read the Bible, or most of it? And how many of you became atheists at least in part BECAUSE of what you read?

2) Man is a wonderful creature; he sees through the layers of fat (eyes), hears through a bone (ears) and speaks through a lump of flesh (tongue).

Any objective person who looks at the alleged lost tomb of Jesus, who looks at the so-called scientific evidence, and the miscontrued statistical evidence, will come to the conclusion that it is indeed false. Have you ever lost a loved one and attended their funeral? Do you remember where there grave, or place of rest is located? Please read on. Jesus was crucified, and buried in Jerusalem. Jerusalem is also the same place where Christ was preached. Surely, EVERYBODY, the disciples, his enemies, and the Roman guard, knew where his tomb was. Why for three years, he was the most controversial and talked about person in all of Palestine. If one healed people and raised the dead in your town, they would no doubt be the topic of many conversations. Those against the apostles could not refute their claims because they couldn't go to the tomb and say,"There's the tomb, the rock is still covering the entrance, and there is no body." Why don't we still know where Jesus' tomb is?

The love of the father is not with marriages?

1 John 2:15-16

cuss there r no marriages in heaven....

15. Love not the world, neither the things THAT are in the world. IF an man love the world, the LOVE of the Father is not in him.
16. For all that is in the world the lust of the FLESH, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

So there is NO SEX in heaven. But all desire something in this world...........
