A second reason for Babylon’s being judged is that all the nations were deceived by her sorcery. Sorcery is from pharmakeia, the root word of the English words "pharmacy" and "pharmaceuticals." The word is used in the New Testament to refer to magic and occult practices (9:21; Gal. 5:20). Babylon’s hold on the world will not be entirely due to her military and economic power, but also to her occult influence.

What old Babylon was known for was religion, false religion led by Nimrod "a mighty hunter in opposition to God."

Babylon the Great would therefore be the world's false religions. They are drunk with the blood of God's people whom they have killed.

It is forecast to die horribly at the hands of the political powers they tried to lead for centuries.

Your Bible broke?Revelations 18:23

"." 21Then a mighty angel picked up a boulder the size of a large millstone and threw it into the sea, and said:
"With such violence
the great city of Babylon will be thrown down,
never to be found again.
22The music of harpists and musicians, flute players and trumpeters,
will never be heard in you again.
No workman of any trade
will ever be found in you again.
The sound of a millstone
will never be heard in you again.
23The light of a lamp will never shine in you again.
The voice of bridegroom and bride
will never be heard in you again.
Your merchants were the world's great men.
By your magic spell all the nations were led astray"

This was addressed to Babylon the great whore. So called because she(the city) went seeking against other Gods.

The world is deceived in the understanding of the Holy Spirit. If you want to believe in a certain way instead of looking to our Father for the way He provided, the deceiver eagerly supplies the confidence within.

It's the same thing they are always deceived of even up to this day!!!

The word Sorcery is "pharmakeia" which in those days required the use of hallucinogenic drugs. Sounds like the legalization and marketing of drugs.
