I don't really have a social life. My friend told me I'm obsessed with the Christian religion. I place God on the top of my list in importance. What are the benefits of becoming a monk?

How do we know pastors are called. The bible never mentions any calling. You can be whatever you want to be.

The benefits of being a monk include an absolute devotion to spirituality, a life dedicated to helping others, and a rich prayer life. The religious life is one of hard work and extreme devotion. It's not to be entered into for frivolous reasons. It might be worthwhile to start examining various orders online (many have websites) and e-mailing the director of orders you like to see what requirements and advice they may have.

Monasticism actually violates the principle tenets of Christianity. Christianity is not a religion of solitude or individuality - Jesus spent his life ministering to the public and instructed his followers to do the same. It is by your fruits that your faith is to be known, and you can bear no fruit as a Christian leading a monastic life.

A call to be a monk is a call from Satan, trying to isolate Christians from the rest of the world.

There are no benefits to being a monk. God never called anyone to be a monk. You need to see a pastor. Notice I said "p-a-s-t-o-r". Thats what I mean, not someone else.

you should persue what your heart leads you to not because you need a past time in place of a social one.
