I've noticed that a common thread among thought-provoking questions is a answerer who invaribly insists, "You're just angry with (my god / my religion) and I pray that you'll (get over it / get a life / realize I'm right)."
Is it really so wrong to be angry with certain religions, or at least with certain interpretations of those religions? I'm angry with fundie Muslims who want to fly planes into buildings, I'm angry with fundie Christians who think that God shouldn't cure kids with cancer because dying kids are "inspiring". I'm also angry with atheists who think whatever terrible things fundie atheists think (I'm drawing a blank, but there's surely some nut jobs out there somewhere).
Is it wrong to be angry in the face of injustice, hypocrisy, and the other bad things that can often be found in religion?

No, anger is cathartic. People say all sorts of silly things about blood pressure and life is too short and other nonsense, but my aunt is a therapist and you know what? She teaches people to express anger. (It involves foam baseball bats.) Otherwise, you get all your feelings bottled up inside and you can't function anymore.
Some things are worth being angry over. A bunch of people died in Iraq today because there's a lot of oil over there. You think we shouldn't be angry about that? You think we should just be "Oh, life's too short not to enjoy it and think about happy things"? No! (I don't mean YOU when I say 'you', I just mean people.)

Well so far that's a question that worked all you got was the usual fundie Christians as you call them, I'm an agnostic, to which i lost god after seeing death on a scale i didn't like, when i then questioned those around me particularly the padre he was unable to answer my questions in a suitable way, the world is full of nutters, of all religions as we've noticed, what strikes me the most though is that having been a christian i know find them as virulent as fundamentalist Muslims, I've nothing against anyone and would prefer to follow the suggestion by Jesus to do unto others as you'd like done unto you, however, as you've noticed its very difficult not to get angry with people who think its the right of God when a child dies through half wits having control over there lives.
If God wanted us to die at the drop of a hat he'd have given us 2 or more heads and not taught us the ability to think about why and how to stop it.
No more doctors or nurses, maybe we should remove those services from Christian areas see who bleats first.

There is nothing wrong with being angry ~ since all religions are esstentially man made there are going to be mistakes in it. It is not Christ who made these religions ~ Christ is the one who saved us ~ but man is the one who created these religions ~ there are going to be problems with them. So in the end I don't see anything wrong with being angry at certain aspects of a religion.
But to point out some things in your examples ~ Muslim does not teach violence so I wouldn't blame that on the actual religion ~ but just some of the wackos who belong to it.
Also God does not kill children ~ period ~ and he wouldn't do it just to be inspiring. It is true though that all things happen for a reason ~ maybe these childrens never recieve a cure because Christ was saving them from something worse that would come later on down the road.
Well I hope this helps you ~ of course this is just my opinion and you never have to agree ~ you can even be angry at this if you want!

There is so much in life one could be angry about. But that anger really gets you nowhere, it only clouds the vision and poisons the heart. As the saying goes, "It is much better to be a light, than to curse the darkness." Use your energies and passions to become a Light, then what you put into the world is of a higher quality and vibration than the lower darker energy of anger...which, by the way, is even of a lower quality and vibe than the things that MAKE you angry.

¬It takes so much energy to be angry, and its so negative. wouldnt it be easier to just overlook the bad in people and try to focus on the good things in life? Live your life as you feel you should (without harming others, and with a respect and open mind for other religions and cultures) and try to spread your good vibes to others. Thats really all any one person can do.

No it's not wrong to be angry with something we don't understand. Have you told God you're angry. Perhaps you should do and ask Him to help you understand. It is far better in God's eyes to be angry than to be complacent.
