I gave this a jiffy of theory, first, mutually as Jesus would have been a chippie, i do no longer think of the Bible has any verses describing something he made/geared up/prepare so which you will possibly no longer opt to hire a contractor with out references. My Dad replaced right into a chippie, yet he died, and he's not god he stayed ineffective, and he's not Jesus the two he took large pains to instruct me Irish memories and "Stuff" and for some reason i will't fathom, The Kalevala. So i'm no longer the son however the daughter of a Catholic/heathen chippie, I talk some French, generally insults. yet I additionally am no longer a deity and that i'm on the east Coast and so thoroughly ineffective to you. and the moral of the story is likely no longer all deities that function hammers are equivalent. Please tell me those French instructions have photographs and Screaming approximately devil could be reserved for Sunday morning. That way it particularly is over in the past i'm unsleeping.

Your question is interesting, even if I think you already know the answer. Of course all can not be carpenters. The custom in O.T. Israel was that everybody should learn a trade. So Joseph and Mary just followed this good old custom and let Jesus learn the trade of a carpenter. Everybody should learn a useful trade, even academics would benefit from a practical kind of trade to be able to support themselves with if necessary. All can not be carpenters, but all should learn a useful trade. That's the answer. To work with our hands is as important as to work with our brains. The best is if both are combined.

Hi Steph,

As we study the Bible we must always think of it as a whole. The Bible teaches that we should follow Jesus' example. But the Bible also teaches that God has a specific plan and has gifted us with specific gifts that we are to use to serve God and others.

As was Jewish custom, Jesus learned the trade of carpentry and Jesus used all his gifts (including carpentry) to serve others. If we were all carpenters then there would be no pastors, grocery workers, etc. i think the idea is more that whatever it is that you do- that you use it to serve Jesus and serve others with His love.

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

No Steph: That means to follow his words on how to live our lives. He said if you love me keep my words. Take up your cross and follow me. When your cross is heavy take it to Jesus. If problems of life are a burden take them to Jesus in Prayer and ask for help. Or if ever you are in doubt, read his words and see what Jesus would do in that situation. Not all will be covered in the bible because all that he said was not covered in the bible nor did he comment on every situation but there is enough in there to help you live better.
