My church has told me that it is an evil holiday and that they knew of witches that give sacrifices on this day. I'm a Christian but I still take my kids trick r treating.

I think it's paranoid to think that Halloween is an evil holiday. It was born from superstition. Take your kids treat or treating and have fun.

¬My favorite Holiday!

During holloween the veil that seperates this realm from that of the ghosts and spirits and angels is the very thin.

Mexicans Call this time of year "La Dia De Los Muertos" which translates to "the day of the dead." it is at this time that they have a picinic in the cemetary and create alters in rememberence of deceased family members and loved ones. they believe that the deceased is able to visit them and, because the veil is so thin, they can be close together once again.

Pagans call this time Semhein. They also perform rituals in honor of loved ones, and believe that through meditation they can commune together.

Christians practice "All Saints Day" the day after Halloween, because they too realize that the veil is thinned and the saints and angels may commune with them at this time... although they would never put it like that.

Im not sure about other religions or cultures, but I do know that Americans have forgotten the routs of Halloween and "All Hallows Eve" and concider it to be a time to party and get free candy. However they seem to have caught on to the idea that ghosts make walk among us...

There is nothing evil about this holiday, only mysterious. and
(ps: witches do not and have never made human sacrifices. sacrifices of food and ale are often made to the earth and its creatures.)

Church propaganda. Halloween is a fun holiday, In the beginning is was started as a way to keep spirits away during this night. Take a look at how Latin's celebrate down in Mexico. It is a day to remember the dead in your family. Witches do not do sacrifices. They have that confused and it's just lies.

Halloween was originally a day for witches to strut their stuff. Christians early on changed it to the night before All Saints Day, Nov. 1, and All Souls Day, Nov. 2, to make it holy, hoping the evil would die out. Yes, witches still do thier thing on Halloween, but that doesn't stop many Christians from having a fun autumn holiday, without the evil tinges.

Your church is wrong. Halloween is not an evil holiday. The word Halloween is short for "All Hallows Eve". It is the eve of All Saints Day,a Christian Holiday honoring all Saints. All Saints Day was originally May 13,But was moved to Nov. 1st by Popes Gregory III and Gregory IV. Halloween originated under a different name(Samhain) as a Pagan festival among the Celts. In order to satisfy the Pagans who converted to Christianity, they were allowed to keep their festival, but only now they would celebrate it as All Saints Evening(Hallowe'en for short)

It is known to be a day of evil doings. I see things differently now as a christian then I did before not being a chrsitian but we still let our little one go trick or treating for fun only. What our church does is have everyone set up a dispay or theme in their trunks like fisher of men or anything pertaining to scriptures for the kids and pass out candy that way. We call it fall harvest.

It's just a fun night for children. Taking your kids trick-or-treating is good parenting. The witches I know don't sacrifice children at any time of the year.

Okay, whenever I get to explain what I think about a holiday or observance, or whatever Halloween is I go to this:
Colossians 2
13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. 15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.
17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.

So not judging others for what they do, especially if just for fun, that's where I stand on this. The 'church' can say what it wants to, but I will not judge anyone else for the typical activities of those having fun on Halloween.

According to a lot of studies, its a pagan holiday, and that it was the day the devil tried to make a deal with God for the souls of man. Others say its the one day where all the spirits of the demons run rampid across the Earth. I don't celebrate any of those holidays because in the Bible it don't give in to the world and it also says that 3 times a year shall all man appear before the Lord not empty. Feast of Pentecost, Feast of the Engathering, and Passover. But you do what you feel is right, but its better to be seated on the side of safety than to be wrong and find out the hard way.

The church has always turned "Halloween" into an evil holiday. It's a pagan holiday yes, but it's not evil. Pagans and Wiccans say this day heightens spells and rituals. It's "All Hallows Eve". Pagans and Wiccans have their good and bad people just like those who go to church have good and bad people. I'm practicing Wiccan and I'm not evil. Hope this helps.

Blessed be

Your church sounds very extreme. There is nothing wrong with taking your kids trick or treating. Just make sure you check the candy and make sure it is safe for them to eat.

I will never figure out how people can take something fun and turn it into something bad....

Have fun with your kids. It's not evil at all.
