I was a former orthodox christian. But thanks to some people here on yahoo answers,I have come to a change of thought.
I am really ashame for being a part of the christian church.
So many people are corrupted. So few see the light.I wont be a part of a spiritual community that has wery few spiritual things about it,that is intolerant, that supports lies and delusions.
I ask you now: "What would you do next?"
and "Do you think that I am correct about this decision?"

He took it away from me when i was 16, 16 when girls started to notice me and when i took a interest in sports, when i was supposed to develop and mature into a nice man? i lost my youth because of that and my health is getting worser by the day? why? just wanna know why?

i am not particularly religious. I just read a question on here which made me think of another. Someone asked if "God was dead". Someone else replied. I just talked to him this morning, he assured me he is alive and in control"
my question is this. All the people who say they talk to god. Does he actually use words like that? can you tell me what his voice sounds like, or is it more of a feeling? you feel he would say this or feel what his intentions are but not really his specific words?

John 14:2-4,6
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.*** I go to prepare a place for you.*** And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that *where I am, there ye may be also*. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

He said "I go to a prepare a place for you." Where did Jesus go? Funny, seems He went up to Heaven shortly after this conversation. He didn't put any limits on how many people could go. Just that you cannot get to the Father,(in the Father's house which is in fact in heaven), except through Him.

Isn't Jesus saying He is the Way to Heaven?

I myself am straight yet I have family members who are gay. My question to both Christians and Muslims is this...What right do you have to say that certain members in my family are sinful or dirty or what else you want to call them? You have never met them and no nothing about them. They have done nothing to harm anyone yet your faith labels them "immoral". Morality is in the eyes of the beholder and it is not for anyone else to judge how an individual lives so long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. People sometimes ask me why I am not religious, how could I honestly follow a religion which says my family is going to hell or is immoral for being different? It wasn't long ago when non-whites in western society were seen as less than human but society changed (most of society anyway). Homosexuality was around a long time before Christianity and even longer before Islam. Your thoughts?

Most scientists believe in being rational, but quantum theory is irrational, yet they believe it is true. So does quantum theory basically say that there is a right way to be irrational?

"O that cunning plan of the evil one! O the vainness, and the frailties, and the foolishness of men! When they are learned they think they are wise, and they hearken not unto the counsel of God, for they set it aside, supposing they know of themselves, wherefore, their wisdom is foolishness and it profiteth them not. And they shall perish."

This is how I see things between Christians and atheists. It sounds as if atheists feel threatened by Judeo-Christian influence making it's way into law. Likewise, it sounds as if Christians feel threatened by the law influencing where and how they can worship. So, what's the compromise? Many here are Americans, and as Americans we're supposed to be accepting of each other. I don't think this "balance" is going to hold up much longer between law and religion, so how could we amicably and effectively amend the systems to better accomodate each other and their chosen proponents?

I had a terrible experience when I was kid in a Catholic church, I am not slamming them, there are bad apples everywhere. I would like to find a different church though and am looking for ideas. It seems intimadating when you look in the phone book and I don't even know the differences between them all. I am looking for one that I can bring my kids to safely, one that I can be proud of and secure in. Please help. And thanks for your two cents in advance. :)

That Christian apologetic has sent hundreds of questions to Muslims challenging their beliefs, and he usually receives tens of replies from Muslims. He even gives many best answers to Muslims for their answers. Therefore this guy has actually read thousands of answers from Muslims. Isn't that enough for him to convert to Islam and stop the blasphemy he's enjoying?

I know that hundreds of millions of Christians and other non-Muslims accepted Islam by their own choice. I think that Djmantx should do the same; it's about time.

I hope that our fellow Muslims who like to respond to him may be more vigorous and successful in leading him to Islam, INSHAALLAH....and may ALLAH guide us all to the right path (Islam) in this life and the afterone, Ameen!

How are the political motivations of atheists any different than that of Christians, when it comes to making laws that affect all of society? On what foundation do they stand when they say "we know what is best"? What makes them qualified to say that my morality is less than theirs?

Theirs is a sin problem not an intellectual one.

If we really look at their objections to what they call "Christians legislating morality", what we find is that they really just what us to condone and even approve of their sinfulness. As if that would change what God says about their depravity. As it is written "All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord remains forever." 1Peter 1:24-25.

For 2000 years the heathen has been raging against Jesus with no results.

for the first apes to evolve into homo-erectus, it took about 5 MILLION years.

YET, for homo-erectus to evovle into modern day humans, it took about TEN THOUSAND years.

if you take a look at the differences of pre-historic apes and homo-erectus, you will see there is about as much difference between those 2 as there are for homo-erectus and modern-day human.

how come one takes longer? by millions of years?!?!?! evolution is flawed.
