I think because he was in heaven with God for a long time before the earth was created and he liked him. But he continues to do the wrong thing. don't you think it is time for the devil to be abyssed or killed or something?

God does not destroy Satan right now because we are living in a period of Grace--a time when God has held back his wrath for a day of future judgment that as many as possible might seek him, find him, and come to salvation. Satan plays a role in this time of Grace because he presents mankind with a choice. God is seeking out those who will see the choice and by faith, choose God.

In the end, God will unleash his wrath on the earth, displaying his power as a final act of persuasion on those who still choose not to believe. Many will come to believe and will sacrifice their lives for that belief. Others will go to the grave not believing or even shaking their fists at God.

There will be a final time of judgment--a time when absolute justice will prevail. No one will get away with anything. Only that which is covered by the shed blood of Jesus Christ will be forgiven.

Matthew 24:14 says that this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations and then the end will come.
So if you want it to come faster then you should be out preaching this good news of God's kingdom?
When the last person hears that is supose to hear zip it happens.
then he will put it into the hearts of men to turn on false religion and destroy her. Babylon the great gets it first.
Babylon the great is a reflection or symbol or what it once was a symbol of pagan religons.
It can't be governments because it has a kingdom over the governments. Can't be commercialism because it shows the merchants stand at a distant and say to bad.
But since it is shown to be full of spiritism that has to be religon. When they do that it is coming.

It will happen exactly as it is written in Scripture.
Currently Satan is seated in the lower heavens (Ephesians 2:2)
Very soon he will be cast out of the heavens.
(Revelation 12:7-9)
At that time he will set up Antichrist as a world ruler. (Revelation chapter 13)
Antichrist will be defeated at Christ's return, and Satan will be bound and cast into the Abyss for 1000 years. (Revelation 19)
He will be released for a short time, and then be cast into the Lake of Fire forever.

"And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever."
Revelation 20:10

With all due respect and I mean no disrespect at all, The bible is very clear on the future of satan. While it may be that we don't like the fact that satan is still roaming the earth God knows. God has a divine order that was instituted long before you and I have existed and his plan for satan's end is perfect. Yes God is going to destroy satan, yes the bible says this will happen. The lake of fire is the final death for satan and God will destroy him because only God has the power to throw satan in it. We do not. Satan will do wrong things because it is in his nature to do evil. Please know that satan has already been defeated. The bible says he prowls like roaring lion seeking whom he can devour. With God on your side and your trust in him fully you are not devourable. Now satan will try to tempt you and it is at these times you will find out just where you are. Will you yield to satan or stand firm in God. Any way as one has already said there is a set time for satans doom. And God is perfect in all he does so don't worry about satan he knows his end. Just stay close to God

The Bible is a book full of tales and nothing more. Talking animals and people living to be a few hundred years old AND giving birth? come on ... Imagine in the centuries to come people find J.R.R. Tolkien's books and look for Middle Earth and for evidence of Hobbits just as the some folks now look for the Ark and other stuff. The Bible is a tale just like the Ramayana, which is poetry and a tale and so is the Bible you xtians need to accept that

All in good time hon. Prophecy hasn't been fulfilled yet and not everyone has heard the gospel of Christ which is also supposed to happen. Keep an eye out for a rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem, a big increase in famines, pestilence (like aids, bird flu) droughts, floods, earthquakes, and the like. I hope we'll all be ready.

They are 2 faces on the same coin with equal power. God can't kill him because without the devil, there is no need for a god.

Police won't have a job if there are no criminals thus god will have no purpose without him.

Opposites are subject to natural law. Not even god can escape it.

God still loves Lucifer, he just can never be in heaven. He's pretty much the Black Sheep of the Biblical family. And I think the reason why he never destroys him is because there has to be some kind of balance in the world of good and evil.

huh? in other words god is flapping his lip & has no follow-through. right? well, since lucifer/aka - the devil is god's other son, he might be still partial to his child. also, in order to have one you need the other. kind of like two sides of the same coin. can't have one without the other. really, though. this is a question for god & not just for us mortals. i might second-guess a lot of people in a lot if situations but NEVER GOD!
