Why do some Rabbis and Priests molest little boys and girls?

and how can we stop them?

im asking 'cos Rabbis and Priests are closest to God? and I do not know the answer, that is why im asking.

Pedophiles usually seek occupations where they come into contact with children. Better screening is very important. This has been going on since the 90s in the Catholic Church. Most of the offenses were in the 70s and 80s. Actually in 2006 there were less than 20 incidents or alledged incidents.

Those are positions of power. People who seek positions of power often need to dominant others. Children are an easy target. Same as teachers and principals it happens too often.

Stop them? Don't put these people on a pedestal where they feel they can do no wrong.

And, btw, why was a 4 year old girl shot to death, by a stray bullet in a "drive by", this week, in Milwaukee, WI? Soon as you have the answer post it. OK?

The same reasons why teachers and other community figures do ... they are sick and they need to be punished.

But, don't kid yourself that it's just priests and rabbis. That's just stupid.

I dont know. Why do some school teachers, protestant ministers, Jehovah Witness leaders, police officers, fire men, nurses, doctors, next door neighbors, family members, molest little kids?

Many of them have to take a vow of celibacy and not get married, either. This creates a void, and they will find their release in one way or another. What's more convenient than an obedient child?
