take a look at the universe. endless in time and space.

people say that God being forever is not possible. but the universe is forever. is it more possible that some matter that lived forever, and just 16.7 billion years ago, just decided to make the universe? or a Supreme God?

how do animals know when to evolve? does "nature" tell them to? no. it must be a God.

Regardless of their religious connotations, what are people such as these two men termed? They aren't prophets or disciples but some might say they aren't far off...

Thanks!

I am not slamming the bible in any way but are there other books and authors who have aligned themselves with God and can share something meaningful.

This deals with a questions posed by someone else on the forum about our assurance of salvation.

1) That most of humanity is not going to make into heaven

2) That our faith and hence salvation is constantly tested by both Satan and our flesh.

3) That everything about us: our emotions, logic, pleasures, and human nature is rebellion against God.

4) That most things we enjoy offend God.

5) That we have two enemies to fight: Satan and ourselves.

6) That we can be deceived so easily.

7) That Satan a once powerful spritual being is after all of us to deceive us and go to hell.

8) That this war for each of us and our own personal salvation is one we cannot afford to lose or eternal torment.

9) That in life humanity is tormented, and that most of us will be tormented eternally.

10) That we cannot run or hide from this fight. We can't avoid this fight.

Okay, if I read a bible, which version does everyone recommend? Because I'm really not good with long repetitive stuff that drags on for pages. And I'm an atheist, and have no desire to convert to christianity, so stop drooling over the thought of getting another brownie point with the lord. I just thought I might read it for the entertainment value.

I've heard people say "the bible tells us", but the bible doesn't have a mouth. It doesn't have vocal cords. It CAN'T talk.

People read scripture and come up with different interpretations all the time. This is fact. Words are not numbers. They convey different meanings to different people.

The bible has been translated many times. Where on Earth can you go and find a definitive authority to ask, "what EXACTLY does this passage mean?" and receive a straight, incontrovertible answer? Someone, somewhere will always disagree.

The US Constitution is a thousand times clearer than the bible, and we still need a massive legal institution to interpret the laws. What authority tells average human beings what the scriptures mean? (and please spare me the "voice of god" tells us. I'm looking for a real, logical answer.)

Is it bad for a guy to think you're sexy? Because this guy that I have a crush on thinks I am sexy and really attractive. I don't want it to go anywhere yet, but he doesn't go to church anymore. What should I do, from a girls perspetive who is a Christian. All my friends at school who know him think that I should give him a chance, but I don't know. He knows that I'm not like most girls and if he doesn't I'll make sure he does before anything happens. I know that he would treat me well, and I know that he understands me. Ahhhhh!!! I don't know what to do. Can you help?

He wrote a good chunk of the New Testament, but never met Jesus (outside of a claimed hallucination). Additionally, it is well known that Paul feuded with the original apostles, and that they preached different messages as mentioned in Galatians.

Hi, I do a lot of bible and archaeological research and have come across references in the NT suggesting that there is indeed life after death. However, there are references also in the OT (and perhaps the NT too, I do not recall) stating that death is indeed the end, and we all turn to dust...although it is held in some quarters that even then, the dead will rise once or on Judgement Day.

Is this why there are differences in the Jewish and Christian faiths regarding what happens after the earthly death? What do Christians make of those passages that say death is indeed the end of the road?

This question is serious but isn't meant to offend anyone, but I am just wondering if there are in fact Christians who do not believe in the story of the afterlife as per the NT?

Thanks!

I have been an athiest most of my life but a friend has been taking me to Catholic services and now I find myself wondering more. I haven't admitted anything to anyone yet not even my friend, I just tell him I am willing to go with him out of curiosity and because he asks me to.

I am a little freaked out ...am I being brainwashed? is that even possible?

I'm confused...maybe someone here can help, because you don't know me and we are anonymous. What do you think? Especially women and expecially women who maybe don't believe strongly.

Home At Last

Home at last
The hurt is all gone
The pain is in the past
and my soul is free to roam

Home at last
a beautiful mansion I see
Glory in it's vast
as I see Jesus standing next to me

The angels are singing
Songs of glory and love
Bells everywhere are ringing
Glory to God up above

Behold the light
The love is so strong
My soul is in flight
This is where I know I belong

No more pain
No more tears
No more rain
Because God takes away all of my fears

I see my family
This is really such a treat
Angels all around me
And I am at my Fathers feet

Do not cry
Please do not weep
For I didnt die
I am only asleep

I had to go away
Because there is much work to be done
I walk with Jesus all day
This is the greatest fun

Do not forget me
And I will not forget you
Be happy, the Lord has set me free
and the love I feel is so warm and true

You will see me again
I am saving you a place
The pain didn't win
because God let me win this race

The pain is all gone
I'm always next to your heart
Thank you God for taking me home
And to my family, we are never far apart

I had to go away
The pain was coming too fast
I am with you every day
But for now I am home at last

Most Christians who follow God's word and have faith in their hearts, didn't obtain their belief from what they were taught as a child. Nor did they start believing because of what a preacher or another christian told them about God. In fact their are many Christians out there that haven't read the bible.

I have seen many statements made by Atheists and other religions, that state how Chrisitans are brainwashed. How is that possible, when their belief in God came from God and not another Human being?

This verse is pretty popular among Christians are being the sign of the coming of Jesus. However, the verse explicitly says: 'prophet' and 'like me' not ' His son'.

"The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren.'
