Whoa. Hold your horses, pal. You cast the net a bit wide there. I agree with you, but I find that it's MONOTHEISTIC religions that want to kill each other. There are also Polytheistic religions and Atheistic religions.

In other words, If you have one god, one supreme being, you're likely to be full of hate and contempt for followers of other religions. If your religion has no god at all, you're likely to be totally comfortable with the fact that other people believe what they want. But so far I have not seen people with loads of gods being a nuisance either, so I don't really know.

For me, religion itself is a set of rules. If you were to read the bible, and interpret it differently, you'll read:

if you follow all these instructions, you'll go to heaven. That's all well and good, but if you DON'T do as we say, you're evil and should be put to death.

Atheistic religions, such as Buddhism do it differently:

Follow these rules, you will become a good person, and you'll achieve stuff. If you break the rules, it doesn't matter, you can always pick up again tomorrow.

No.

The two greatest non-religious social movements of the twentieth century, Nazism and Communism, killed more people in about 50 years than so-called religious folks have in the last 2,000 years.

Most believers of all faiths get along just fine. But there are always a few bad apples that do horrible things. They are human after all.

With love in Christ.

I wish it were. It would be so much easier to be a follower of Christ if that were true. Christians are going to go through hell before the end comes. No doubt about that. I can only hope I'm ready. I don't hate anyone and don't want to kill anyone. I hate evil though.

actually yes... the spiritual abuse is the cause of childhood nght mares... the reason why kids dream of boogie men... monsters under the bed... we are born spiritual, emotional, mental and physical... religions create a spiritual slavery... but people don't know it but feel it... also when we use common sense to try and explain our point of view and they freak out... that's because they've been doing it so long that they received a lobotomy.. unable to reason facts.. and instead of admitting they are wrong or to find their lost conscience they get pissed off at us... they are in slavery land man... just like Kunta kinte gone toby man..

psychosis aint the word your looking for, thats an awful madness requiring hospitalisation & ECT, but i agree so much with your question otherwise, if we all kept our opinions to ourselves about our choice of religion, then the world would not be in the state its in

an incorrect generalisation on your part.
Also, the killing each other part is only under the guise of religion, it's actually about power not religion. Look a little deeper.

Organized religion doesn't do enough to dissuade governments from going to war.

But the urge to kill has been around as long as the urge to love, make no mistake about it.

That is not a fair statement. I don´t want to kill anyone. Am I the exception? I doubt it. True Christians strive for perfection in character. Please do not lump me or the other true Christians out there who are very decent people.

GOD bless
