Do you have an idea about how people who identify themselves as Christians should behave? Or could you really not care less?

with the love they are suppose to show ALL people let alone their fellow Christians? I am speaking about several responses to the Catholic questions asked by Catholics meant for Catholics to answer but, are nosed into by certain people here with an agenda most insulting. You know who you are. I am thinking that some of these people even profess to be "Pastors?"

I need to know what or where it talks about wealth in the bible, because lets face it, it would probably take me a life time to read all of the works. I think.

Our Brother in Christ James says this- James1:2- Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you face trials of many kinds. God is here for us, says never will He leave us, never will He forsake us.

I am a Christian. I believe that Christians should defer to scientists in questions of science. I believe that the Bible should not be read literally as the inerrant word of God. Why not let people like me into the discussion?

Here's the sitch. I did something stupid which we are trying to rectify. If I believed in god, it's something I would pray about. We are taking logical steps to address the situation and logically I understand that's all we can do. But I'm feeling a strong urge to do something superstitious....like praying. (Even knowing full well that the only effect it will have is on me, etc. etc. etc.)

Because I USED to believe in god, the act of praying - even if not addressed to an entity - makes me feel hypocritical. Even if I addressed it to Fate, it would still feel like praying to god, and that's just wrong for me.

So what can I do to relieve my mind?

NOTE: No, I'm not feeling a push to come back to god. Nor is that an idea I would entertain. I'm looking for any OTHER reasonable idea or trick here - not just to deal with this situation but for things that will come up in the future. Oh, and it was something boneheaded I did, not evil. Remember, atheists do have morals too!

Start with original sin, which we know is meaningless because even tho' little babies are born with it, they all go to heaven if they die young.

So much for original sin.

Let's look at regular sin. Well, that's no problem. Any time your conscience is bugging you, ask Sky Daddy for forgiveness and he automatically forgives you, no questions asked and no penalties incurred. You still get to go to heaven.

So obviously regular sin is no problem either.

How does one become a "Christian"? Simple, 'humble' yourself when you are alone with Sky Daddy and he gives you a ticket to heaven.

Sky Daddy never talks, never shows up, never lectures, never makes you feel bad about what you are doing, forgives everything you do wrong, Sky Daddy "loves" you, no matter how stupid or bigotted you are.

"Christianity" is as easy as falling off a log. You don't actually have to -do- anything except mouth the empty words "Jesus is my personal saviour".

Is that "Christianity" in a nut shell?

I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked.
For the Lord God is our light and protector
He gives us grace and glory.
No good thing will the Lord withhold
from those who do what is right.

I just don't see how people can take it so literally when we know that stories tend to change when passed down orally, that books have been withheld and edited to suit political needs, and that, Mary Magdalene, a person nearer and dearer to Jesus than anyone has has been sorely misrepresented. There are other things that just don't make sense.

how come you believe god and jesus are one and that jesus is the son of god. how can this be if god is not human. sure he created the whole of mandkind but u cant say that his creations are his sons and daughters. for instance, if a doll maker creates a bunch of dolls he cannot refer to them as his children can he?/

see my point

therefore could you clarify why this conjoining of god and his creation as family.

thanx

Rabbi Saul (St. Paul) hoped through his lies and deception he would save the covenant with Judaism from being transferred to the rengades who followed Jesus.

Rom 3:7 ---- For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my LIE unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?

Rom 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men…….according to MY gospel.

And yet to the Romans he wrote the LAW is Holy.

Romans 7:12 -- So that the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and righteous, and good.

I found out is that you have to have confidence in Jesus' Merits and fidelity to holy grace. There is no salvation outside of Jesus Christ as its mean also no salvation outside the Roman Catholic Chruch as we believed in the exactedly as the same thing.
A prayer. (you can share this prayer with others.)
Through the merits of your Holy Wounds and Heart, O Jesus, alway perpetually help me to stay away from all thing that is anti-confidence to your merits and anti-fidelity to your holy grace. Amen

Well i have been a jehovahs witness for all my life and i belive it is the truth. It is not a cult and we are not all idiots. Actually most every wittness i ever met are all nice loving people that make you feel like family, of course you get those people who have an attitude but i mean i think everyone knows someone like that ... i mean we are all imperfict humans and we all get cranky sometimes. when i watched this i got sorta mad about how much they made fun of jehovahs witness. Everyone has a religion and everyone sticks to it thinking that there religion is the best. Well who the heck thinks we are any different. We like our religion just like you guys like yours. What we do is not try to convert you all or, try to change you all into our religion but insted we try to provied a hope for the future because lets face it...there is none. And i personally know a lot of people that need help and a hope for the future and i am guessing so do a lot of others and we do this threw the bibles teachings and what we no of our god jehovah. I appriciate the watchtower and the organization because it is really good information and also helps you with everyones day to day strugles. I also like the fact that my religion helps me with my everyday life. It helps me to not do anything stupid like become a acoholic or to start doing drugs or smoke. It allows me to be a good person and to concer every situation that i may face. I am not a member of a colt... i do not have problems.... i do not have pre marital sex..... i do not do any drugs, smoke, or drink...i am not some boring teenager that sits around and reads the bible all day and hides in a corner just awaiting the end of the earth. I am normal human being that enjoys life just like everyone else, my belifes may be different.. but i belive them. I am a clean teenage girl who is healthy and is enjoying life and i like it that way. Which is pretty good considering i am a teenager in high school and with all the people i see in school.....trust me it is pretty rare to see someone who isent doing drugs, smoking, drinking, and having pre marital sex. I am glad that my religion helps me to be the best person that i can be, in studing gods word and implying it in my everyday life. I couldnt be happier and i think, unless you all have personally met and heared all we belive and actually understood what we are talking about...... you all have no reason to judge. We are a good people and it is a shame everyone cant exept us.

I find it interesting how religious people say, "God said", "God told me", blah, blah, blah. When was it you sat down face to face and talked to God? God told you nothing. Other people who try and interpret the bible (which was written by a human), tell you God said but until you hear it from his mouth then say the "BIBLE" says. And I actually believe in God. But when I am on Answers I see "God tells us" all the time. I find it comical. God has an influence in my life but I also know what is right and wrong and I don't need to say, "Well God says" before everything I say. How about you have your own opinion and leave God out of it.

That was just a breather question.

My REAL question is, do you have the EARS to HEAR?
Ears to hear the truth? That Jesus Christ died and rose again, and gave His life, so we who believe could be set free from sin and hell? Do you believe this? Think about those ears of yours, and how God made them.

Mark 4:9
Then Jesus said, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."

John 5:24
"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.

I accepted Jesus as my personal savior recently.

I was told by my friend I should get baptized. I don't know though. I have a fear of crowds..which I know I shouldn't fear man and such. I don't know if I'm ready..or what all it involves.

I go to a non denominational church. I was told that your head is dipped completely into water.

What is the actual process? Do you have to be baptized? Why do it?

Nor did he need to believe in Jesus to get into heaven.

Just like those billions of people who lived for 3,000-4,000 years before Jesus.

And the billions after him........ who follow a covenant not made by Paul.

GEN017:009-10 -- And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations. This is my Covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every male child among you shall be circumcised.

GAL005:002 --Behold, I Paul say unto you , that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.

I am a member of the church of latter-day saints (mormon) and everyone that I know hates us. We are talking about regular christian people hate us. Why though? We believe in the same God in heaven. We still believe that Jesus died on the cross so that we may have everlasting life. I know some of you are going to bring up the more than 1 wife thing. That is not true for the church of latter-day saints. We do not encourage that kind of behavior. Nor do we accept it. We do not worship Joseph Smith. We just look at him as a prophit. In all christian believes doesn't it state not to judge others? Please answer kindly to this question. Thank you and God bless.
