I find it interesting how religious people say, "God said", "God told me", blah, blah, blah. When was it you sat down face to face and talked to God? God told you nothing. Other people who try and interpret the bible (which was written by a human), tell you God said but until you hear it from his mouth then say the "BIBLE" says. And I actually believe in God. But when I am on Answers I see "God tells us" all the time. I find it comical. God has an influence in my life but I also know what is right and wrong and I don't need to say, "Well God says" before everything I say. How about you have your own opinion and leave God out of it.

It is also mainly in Christianity that I see this occurance. My girlfriend has many Gods but one supreme God. our beliefs are different in that respect but it is that belief in a Supreme God that binds us. So I don't necessarily put my faith in the Bible either. It excludes many people. I'm just saying that people don't always have to say, "Well God says" before everything they say. It's not necessary at all and the point gets across just the same. Cut and dry, that is it. Everybody doesn't believe in God therefore your point becomes invalid once you place God in front of that point.

I think that when people say God Says they are referring to the Bible. The Bible is God's word, so God did say that. The Bible was written by many people. Not one. And it was through the power of God that it was written. So, instead of becoming angry or irritated at people, try to be understanding and loving. As Christians, that is what we are to do. God Bless.

Dear sain,

The Bible is written to mankind. It is the lawbook of God. We read in 2 Timothy 3:16, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"

When we read the Bible, it is like sitting at the feet of God and listening to Him. It does not matter where you read in the Bible-it is ALL the word of God.

It's a big game of telephone - people said that a book said that people said that some other people said...going back into the mists of history.

It turns out the original message was "Pick up a goat at the market."

He doesn't "literally talk" he motivates you in one way or another.. guides you... the more of Gods word you have resident in your soul the more you begin to understand the thinking of Christ and the Holy spirit ministers to you through your conscience. It's not literal conversation.

I think that when people say "God said..." they are, in essence, saying "the Bible says..." People say things. Deal with it.

Uhm... you are absolutely right, yet we shouldn't judge other people's attitude toward God, since it's their own relationship...
I kinda thought they are cute.

I agree.

Isn't it odd how people presume to speak for their gods?
