Having been a Christian once, I have to say I hold them to high standards...
I expect them to:
- Follow the rules of their religion (No stealing, no adultery, etc.)
- Not start fights (Turn the other cheek)
- Be kind to all, even those different from drastically (Love thy neighbor)
- Be able to hold a conversation about at least one religion other than their own
Maybe it's too high a standard, but, eh.

I believe they should above all, think for themselves and actually read and study their bibles, judaism and paganism (as their religion is a combination of the two), history and science and actually determine what the bible is REALLY saying about things.
If they are going to call themselves "christian" which means mini-christ, then they better behave as their christ is portrayed and stop using the cop-out "we're not perfect, just forgiven" when they act like total jerks.
They should accept that there are other beliefs in the world that are just as valid as their own and should stop trying to legislate their religion into secular nations like the United States.

If all Christians applied the teachings of Christ the way He intended them to be applied the world would be a much better place. And maybe their wouldn't so many unbelievers. Our actions should speak louder than our words. And before we seek to take the splinter from someone else's eye we should remove the log from our own eye. Because we will be judged by our actions and our words as well. And if my actions keep someone from coming to the Lord we will be reminded of it in heaven at the time of judgement. When we are insulted in here we should turn the other cheek and not insult anyone. Love should be at the top of our list of actions. these are just some of the ways Chrisians should act.

this is aimed towards christian fundamentalists who take the bible as 100% truth without flaw and those that dont follow it are going to hell.
they should act like intelligent human beings. they can believe in god and the divinity of jesus if they want but it gets ridiculous when you have christians who say the bible is 100% truth without flaw and there is no other law they should abide by. therefore there is no such thing as evolution or other scientific theories. more christians should realize science and the bible arent related at all and therefore arent in contradiction. just like the catholic church has said, there two different truths in the world. the truths of faith and the truths of reason. they exist on two different parallel planes of existance and are in no conflict.

Read this question I just answered:
"Why does evangelical Christianity represent Christianity in the debate between Christians and Non-Christians?
I am a Christian. I believe that Christians should defer to scientists in questions of science. I believe that the Bible should not be read literally as the inerrant word of God. Why not let people like me into the discussion? "

Now that is a Christian I respect.

They should do what Jesus told them to do: treat others as they would want to be treated, and don't lie to themselves that if they were a sinner or non-believer they'd want to be harrassed, discriminated against, and excluded because that would show them the True Path. They wouldn't.
They should go ahead and say Merry Christmas, put nativity scenes on their lawns, and carry Bibles to school for leisure reading... but they should refrain from Christinizing public school, and also from speaking for their deity in declaring what other people's experience of the afterlife, if any, will be like... it's not up to them. And they should expect respect in return.

Respectful of others beliefs. They shouldn't go around saying their religion is the only RIGHT religion. No one really knows what the right religion is. I think there is a religion for everyone based on what they believe. I recently have found christian-wiccan will work for me the best based on what my beliefs are. They should not go around saying we are going to be denied heaven because we're not believing what they believe. That is not right. I would never say that to anyone.

Personally, I could not care less.
Behave as they wish.
Just don't assume everyone has the same opinion, and that everyone wants or needs to be saved.
Go into every life event, assuming the person you are speaking with has no Religious Beliefs until told otherwise.

I think they should try to live as their own dogma has laid out. It is when they claim to be christians then cast judgement on others for their own beliefs ("you don't believe in god....you're gay.....ect.....you're going to hell"). If the judgemental attitude was gone, I could care. Granted, I know that non-christians are just as judgemental (if not moreso at times) as christians. But you didn't ask about that.

Nonjudgmental
but that is the way all people should act with common sense. If you think about it, only you know who you are, God know you better, and other people only have a few pieces to the puzzle--at best. Persecuting others is not cool.
