If we saw somebody harm our child we would put down our life to save him/her. So why does God allow it to happen, I wonder.

Since the beliefe in the trinity is that God exists simultaneous in 3 forms, then Jesus was in fact God. if you beleive this, why does he even need to pray?

If you believe in the trinity yet you somehow think that Jesus wasn't the same as the others (even though beliefe in the trinity says that the 3 forms are equal) why didn't Jesus correct Thomas when Thomas called him God?

Does anyone, besides me, think this is impossible?
I mean, if you believe the Bible to be true, then how can you believe in evolution? Is this a New Age way of thinking or is it conforming to the ways of the world?? What do you think? Any "Christian" feedback is good.

were sitting at a bar discussing their beliefs. One wanted to change the subject but the other kept trying to get the other guy to believe his way. Which one do you think was the rude one? This really happened & I was suprised to see how classy one was by saying let's agree to disagree while the other couldn't let it go

Why do you believe the people who chose which books to include and which to exclude were on the inside track? What about the 7 books thrown out by Saint Jerome...was he a prophet?

Can we only truly know the Bible if we learn the ancient texts and read them in context to the times, customs, beliefs and education of the day and age?

If you say the people in 1611 were inspired by God...how do you not know that the JW's, Mormons, or other groups who have added to or taken away from the Bible were not inspired too?

How do you pick and choose who is inspired?

Doesn't this show that we should not interpret the Bible literally?

I love my Mormon friends and neighbors, but your religion was founded by a man named Joseph Smith of about 200 years ago.

The Church never needed to be reformed or have latter day revelations because Jesus gave all authority to Peter and founded His Church. Jesus said that "The gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Therefore, there is no need for a "new revelation, doctrine or church." Please research the history of the one true catholic and apostolic Church as preserved by The Eastern Orthodox and Catholic Church which is passed down to most mainstream Protestant Churches with some doctrinal differences, but keeping the main thing, the main thing: Jesus Christ is LORD and God.

I grew up Christian, Once I turned 18 I moved out and went to college and am now 23. I consider myself agnostic, and live a decent life and am a good person.

My parents consistently try to control my actions. They call constantly trying to find out where I am. They try to press Christianity upon me in a hurtful way. They are constantly trying to make me feel guilty for going out occasionally and having--oh my god-- A BOYFRIEND.


I have respectfully told them that if I ever do decide to become a Christian, it has to be when I want to.
When they found out I was going to stay in a hotel w/ my boyfriend for a few days, they damn near called me a whore.
I'm exhausted of it all, I know they are fanatical (my older sister is the same way), but I don't want to resort to pushing my parents/family away anymore.
How can a situation like this be reconciled or ultimately or am forced to change who I am in order to not lose my family forever? How did you handle it. What were the conseque

a lot of you say 'GOD said it so I believe it.' What if God said 'I want you to jump and down at 3 am everyday and chant GA GA oOoo chou moo moo ....BRAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!' Would you still do it?
What if he told u to do that in Heaven? Would you still do it? What if he told u to shoot up heroin? would you still do it? AND NO DONT SAY GOD WOULD NEVER TELL YOU TO DO THAT AND IT'S SATAN.

Genesis - " 24And God said, "Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth after his kind"; and it was so."

Just curious as I don't think evolution and christianity are compatible.....It's a pretty good bet that there were no domesticated cattle when the earth was created, especially considering no one was around yet to domesticate them, so did your god make them or did they evolve over millions of years? If god didn't ouright create cows in the beginning, which didn't happen, is the bible wrong? How do you reconcile this?

...this is a factual statement, although Im certain a few of you would be willing to argue that with me...

My question is such:

If we are all born Atheists, why do religious people think that is?? If we are created by a God that is omniscient, why does he create us as unbeleivers, and make us learn through indoctrination into religions of man, and punishes us when we fail to comply, when he easily could have created us all to be born with at least SOME understanding of his existence???

I know the idea of God not wanting a bunch of robots worshipping him...but that doesnt answer why he allows everyone to be born as unbeleivers.....
