Of course most Christians think that laws should reflect their beliefs. They seem to think that murder is against the law because it says so in their Bible.Yet murder is illegal in China and China is an Atheistic run society. They don't give enough credit to society and think that everything boils down to what is in the Bible. So, yes, they think that laws should be based on the Bible and already, in their own arrogant way, think that every law came right out of the Bible. When, in fact, most laws are inspired by early societies.Even biblical laws are laws that were inspired by earlier laws from society before the Bible was written.

I say no.Let laws reflect what is best for society and not what is best for belief.

"Should laws be based on the bible, ever?"

-Yes, the laws are already based on the Bible in many ways. The 10 commandments have been an outline for our laws since the founding of our nation.

"Christians, lets hear you say it, you think every one should conform to *your* beliefs, and force *everyone* to abide by the bible."

-I don't expect anyone to conform to my beliefs. It's their choice where they want to spend eternity. However, it is my job as a Christian to spread the news about Jesus to those who do not know him, regardless of who they are and what they believe. This is something my Bible commands that I do and I will do it whether it is offensive to some people or not.

"Go ahead and admit that you are bigoted and and do not respect religious equality and seperation of church and state."

-I am not bigoted. I have friends who aren't Christian and we agree to disagree. I respect your right to choose, but by asking me to not tell you about Jesus you are directly interferring with my faith and I do have a HUGE problem with that. Jesus says, "If you love me, obey me." My place is to please God, not man. If the Bible offends you, then that is between you and God. I am only proclaiming it.

"Should our laws be dictated by the bible?"

-Most of our laws are dictated by the Bible.

"And please give your reasons why it should or shouldnt be."

-As a Christian what I believe, and what 84% of this country believes is that God's Word is infallible and is our measuring stick for life. Naturally we believe that God's law should be reflected in our law as well. That doesn't make us bigoted. Our country goes out of it's way to accomodate people like you who do not believe in God and who get offended by the very utterance of his name. It's people like you who wanted the Pledge altered...and In God we Trust taken off our currency...our government is so fearful of offending you that they often times are willing to change our traditions and history to accomodate you. We are not bigoted, and neither is this nation...if anything I see Atheists on this site attacking Christians for not believing what they believe and for not submitting to their opinions...just like you right now with this question.

I am a christian and I dont think any laws should be based on the bible because there are too many sects who use the scriptures they want or interpret them the way they want so they can make others conform to their beliefs. Guess my answer kind of blows your theory out of the water that we all want everyone to conform to our beliefs. Maybe you arent meeting "true" christians.

nicely, darling, i'd be attracted to understanding precisely the position the founders were "sparkling" that we ought to continually "create regulation depending on the god of the Bible and the ten commandments." i'd actually have an interest to work out what form of one million-to-a million relationships she attracts between the invoice of Rights (regulations our founders framed themselves) and the ten commandments of her Bible. which will be relaxing. really, darling, i'd be stunned if Sarah might want to even develop into attentive to a measly few of the amendments contained in the invoice of Rights. i'm prepared to believe that she couldn't call 7 commandments, too. In one of the towns immediately bordering mine, there's a Bible-based law stating it is illegal to make monkeys smoke cigarettes.

Blue Laws are good for comedy.

And no, the Constitution was NOT based off of the Bible. Freedom of religion and freedom of speech both contradict the Bible, for the Bible commands God be worshiped as is stated, and that speech must be pure.

I'm not Christian but I use to be. I'm a spiritualist now. No I DEFINITELY don't think laws should be taken from the Bible. For one thing, the Bible isn't completely accurate and was written by Man, therefore, Man is not trustworthy. I say no to this. That's just wrong and it isn't right.

The laws in the Bible are the only ones that make sense. God knows what's best for us in the long run. Only HE can see the final outcome.

The few of the 10 commandments. but thats all. And not because they come from the bible, but that it's common sense. You know, don't commit murder, no adultery, don't steal,

Of course not.

I'm not a Christian, why should my secular life be subject to Biblical laws ... especially all that shite in Leviticus and all that crap spouted by Paul.
