were sitting at a bar discussing their beliefs. One wanted to change the subject but the other kept trying to get the other guy to believe his way. Which one do you think was the rude one? This really happened & I was suprised to see how classy one was by saying let's agree to disagree while the other couldn't let it go

The Atheist wanted to change the subject but the Christian wouldn't let it go. I'm a Christian but people like that give me a bad name

the christian was rude because the atheist would not convert...Christians don't like it when you disagree with them , because they always think their right....

The one that wouldn't allow the other to have their own beliefs was the rude one(in other words, the one that wouldn't change the subject). Not everyone has to believe the same way. I am an atheist and you wouldn't believe some of the things that have been said to be over the years. I am very curious to know which person wouldn't let the topic be changed.

I presume in this case the rude one was the atheist, since everyone accuses the Christians of being pushy. Actually, it happens both ways, and I really don't know who are the guiltiest. Being pushy has nothing to do with what one believes, but rather how one has been brought up to treat people with respect.
By the way, there is a difference between being "aggressive" and being "pushy". One can legitimately be aggressive in seeking creative ways of making known his beliefs, but be willing to back off and wait if the other person is not really willing to discuss it. That is being "not pushy".

It depends on the people and not the religious beliefs. There are some atheists who would harp on it all night long. There are some christians who would harp on it all night long. However, there are plenty of people in both groups who would probably not even bring up the subject of religion while sitting in a bar, much less try to force a debate.

There's really no way to solve your riddle. Either the Christian or the atheist could have been the classy one. Am I expected to simply guess?

OK. Simply because I often use the same tactic, I'm going to guess that it was the atheist who proposed they "agree to disagree."

We should all agree to disagree, after all neither Christian nor athiest can prove one way or the other who is right. We should all live in peace and harmony, no matter what our beliefs are.

Do unto others as you would have done unto yourself. I don't think anybody, believers or non-believers can, or should, disagree with this.

Which one was the rude one? from my experience of being on both sides and witnessing both sides...it depends which way the winds blowing!!

the one that couldnt let it go was the rude one. whether that person was the atheist or not doesnt matter. if a person doesnt want to talk or debate their beliefs then you shouldnt be pushing the subject. otherwise you just come off as the @$$

As a christian it shames me to say that it was probably the "christian" who was rude. Although I've seen both sides exhibit very much rudeness, especially on this forum, the thing I havent seen is an atheist trying to get me to give up my beliefs for theirs. As christians we are supossed to witness, but we are not supossed to force our ideas and beliefs on others.

It could have been either of them. The case you witnessed was irrelevant. It was a single event. So if the Christian was rude, well, there must be plenty of rude Christians. If it was the atheist, same thing.

Honestly it depends on the two individuals here... there are atheists who wouldn't really let the subject go and there are theists like that too.

Both are also present in the opposite group ofcourse.

My guess would be that you'll tell us it that the rude one was the one who does NOT happen to agree with YOUR point of view, and none of us will never be able to prove otherwise because we can only take your word for it.
