Because, while many people have told me that I can lead a better life by following the Christian spiritual path, no one has bothered to take the time to inform me to how that would work.
Christianity will make me a happier person? How? A typical answer I get is to "just believe, and it will happen". I'm not sure about that. So I have not been willing to take that chance.
How is this the only way to happiness?

It all boils down to me needing some proof as well as getting things clairified. There are too many things that don't add up to me and until I can get them straightened out then I'm in the state of being as I am.

because there isn't any objective evidence for the existence of a god. All we have is an old book that is full of self-contradictions and a bunch of subjective/emotional experiences that can't be verified.

there are many ways to happiness
Jesus is yours and that is great
but that is not for everyone
yet they are happy all the same
