Not true. We are born with a desire to know our Creator. The idea of walking in the Garden of Eden with our Creator in the cool of the evening is so very powerful that we are drawn to it. When we look at the stars and the order of nature, we naturally assume that it had to be designed and we need the likes of Richard Dawkins to try to dissuade us of this obvious fact. We are drawn to seek God.

yes! Ive asked this question before and had alot of illogical responses. The fact of being born an atheist and telling christians that god didnt give them free will just doesent settle in their brains. A person can be born on a secluded island away from religion and possably argue that rain came from a God, yet use this excuse to blindly answer the unknown. Free will does not come from one of societies influences such as passed traditions, or cultures, but from oneself. A christian will argue that God gave them free will, yet will not steal because God said so. Everyone is born an atheist. No one comes out of the womb with a conscience. No one comes out of the womb thinking God created them. Religion is a man made passed tradition and forced onto them by their religious parents ever since infancy with rewards of heaven and fears of hell.
Everyone is born an Atheist
Free will doesent have a master.

I'm not sure that it is a factual statement. I did not grow up in a religious household, at all. God and religion were never talked about. I remember being very young and thinking there was a higher power out there. Granted at the time I was not wise enough to fully understand what I felt, but I knew I had a God. As I got older and religion was introduced to me, all the things I just knew in my head all made sense. After that I found my own way to church an developed my religious beliefs, but I must say they were always there, even when I wasn't quite sure what it was.
I think you have a point, in general, with your question. I think many people only believe what they do because their parents tell them to. Very sad if you ask me. I believe this is why we have so many "Christians" out there making a fool of the religion by being judgmental and holier than thou.

Well, see, I am not Christian... so I believe that the FIRST time I was born I was born an Atheist... I agree... because I believe like most things... RELIGION is LEARNED...
However, since I believe in reincarnation... I also believe that our "Soul" retains some memories from past carnations... and as such... there comes a time when my spirit was NOT born Atheist... but with a soul knowledge of a spirituality that fit me.
Possibly this works with Christians too... even though they do not BELIEVE in reincarnation... believing makes something no more or less true most often... so if there is reincarnation... then if a Christian was a Christian in a past life then too maybe in the next life he or she was born with some Soul Knowledge of that faith... and so when he or she grew older... gravitated towards that faith?
I don't know for sure... because that is the way of religion... it is a belief... not a fact.

We are not born atheists. And I can prove it. Think about all those ancient civilizations of the past. None of them have anything in common with the exception that they all had gods of some sort. Every civilization has its own theory on God. Honestly, how on earth do all those civilizations get the idea of God if there wasn't some natural tendancy for humans to believe in one?

We are born with no belief in God and no thought about a deity but is our parents that instill those beliefs. Just because we and our ancestors were born atheists doesn't mean there isn't a God. Where do you think the idea of God originated? Obviously, God created created the living things and knew that we would look for him.

I don't believe we are created as "unbelievers". There is a pattern (a road map) indeliby etched within our soul and spirit that eventually creates the longing to go back home. Much like a teen who runs away from home, goes out into the world, enjoys the pleasures that were outlawed by the parents, gets knocked around a bit in "the real world" and eventually longs to return home. With the soul, it sometimes takes lifetime after lifetime of hard knocks to realize what a toilet bowl the physical plane is ... but eventually we are all ready to go back home and begin searching for a higher purpose.

Hmm, that's a very good question. I've also wondered why people consider mankind to be inherently bad at birth. The original sin concept seems to say that everyone is responsible for the activities of two people in a garden and therefore are inherently evil. I think it's that you have to create a dilemna for people and then turn around and offer a way out. Tell people that they are evil and deserve to go to hell. Then tell them that it's their lucky day--all they have to do is convert to Christianity, confess their sins, give 10% of their money to a church, and go to church every Sunday to get eternal salvation.

As a matter of fact children and God are considered equal coz when a child is born he's absolutely neutral, he might cry for no reason, he might keep shut for no reason.(He or She)He has not been intoxicated with anything YET.So u cant say that we are born atheists.
That is y muslims say they have revereted to Islam coz when ur born ur following the Supreme Lord or the pure energy or Allah which one manifestation of God
I am not saying this coz im a muslim but im a HINDU who follows another manifestation of God which is God with form

One person said that we do know God before we are born and we know heaven but he blocks that memory from our mind. Why? Because If we grew up knowing these things all we would want to do is get back to heaven because its so great. Everyone would be very unhappy being stuck here.

If we were born with some understanding of god's existence that would mean god was real, but he is not, therefore we are brainwashed to believe in a man made god.
Super bobo if I thought you were serious I would call you a liar.
