He was oppressed and treated harshly,
yet He never said a word.
He was led like a lamb to the slaughter.
And as a sheep is silent before the shearers,
He did not open His mouth.
Unjustly condemned,
He was led away.
No one cared that He died without descendants,
that His life was cut short in midstream.
But He was struck down
for the REBELLION of my people.
He had done NO WRONG
and had never deceived anyone.
Isaiah 53 verses 7-9

That he was able to actually go through with it, when he really didn't have to, and we didn't deserve it.

Lets look at it.

Treated harshly? Harsher than anyone else who had ever been crucified? Don't think so.

Didn't open his mouth? What about 'God, why have you forsaken me'? And 'Forgive them for they know not what they do'? How did he say all that with his mouth closed? Was he a ventriloquist?

Unjustly condemned? He was inciting people to revolt against the church of the time. In some places they burn you at the stake for that.

His life was cut short? Yeah, for 3 days, and then immortality for eternity. And they call that a 'sacrifice'.
