If God told me to do stupid pointless things I wouldn't worship him. I worship him because his commandments are perfect and necessary.
As for the Bible, check out the history channel everyonce in a while. There is factual evidence supporting almost every event in the Bible.

Like most Christians none of you have good answers to the question at hand, he asked why do you believe a man written book, and you rattle off answers like "faith", when its the book itself that taught you about faith. If I write a book and say have faith and follow me. how many followers will I have. I believe there is a God. and he should get praise, but I do not think he had anything to do with the bible. To logical thinking people this is obvious.

ur an idiot...if it was what god asked of me then of course i would because as pointless as it would seem to ur small simple mind god wouldn't ask it of me unless there was a purpose. and i'll tell u why i believe if u can answer this...what does salt taste like. its kinda indescribable but u know exactly what it is....thats called faith. Have u ever been to Russia? if not, then how do u know its there? because someone told you so, how do you know they were right. you just know it. maybe u should spend some time thinking and praying about it!

concern of the unknown. i assumed till i replaced into sufficiently old to think of for myself...sure, each and every tale handed down is professional. ??? the subsequent era of Catholics are going to think of the "Ten Commandments of utilising" got here from god, too. It replaced into purely further via the hot pope some weeks in the past. people's hearts are in the dazzling place, yet their heads are not. what proportion faiths are there? Which faith's thoughts are authentic? in all risk none. They have been written to maintain the a lot in line. i've got self assurance in being a sturdy individual, and that's all i desire.

What?
I don't blindly believe. I believe in the Bible because much of it is supported by historical, scientific, and archaeological evidence.
Obviously, if the Bible said to do stupid things, I wouldn't believe in it.

Most people that believe it were taught to believe it from a very young age, by their parents, who were also taught to believe it from a very young age. I think mostly it has to do with fear of eternal pain after death.
God is Love. God would never send anyone to a place like h-e-double-hockey-stix

You need to experience God, then you'll know for sure if he would or wouldn't ask you to do all these things. It doesn't matter what we tell you. I know I wouldn't do it because I know that He wouldn't ask me to smoke heroin or anything like that. But yeah, I think you need to meet Jesus. He loves you.

I love how you call us dogs.
That shows real class!
Don't worry - before you know it you'll be 18, and then your parents won't make you go to church anymore.
