Matthew 23

"Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
"Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
"All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
"For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
"But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
"And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,
"And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.
"But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
"And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
"Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

Think many History and Science books are filled with lies?

If every book you read which is written by man, how do you choose which ones you will believe and which ones you refuse or do not accept as gospel?

My youngest was watching MTV's Engaged and Underaged and it grabbed my attention. On the show, both kids are still in their teens, still living at home with their parents and earn minimum wage, no college yet.

They seemed so immature! The girl was so spoiled and sheltered and the boy was....well, in no way ready to handle a woman's emotions yet. The girl's mother was very skeptical of the marriage (I would be too) and asked,
"Are you SURE it isn't just because you want to have sex?"
Then I realized they were born again Christians and that means no sex before marriage.

Are younger ages for marriages typical of young Christians raised not to have sex before marriage?

Do they tend to marry the first person they fall in love with because it is the only way they can explore a sexual relationship?

Our divorce rates are already very high, do you think these young marriages will stand up over time, in our present day?

Serious answers only. No cut and pastes please.

As some of you may know, I have been getting close to another user on here, we have been seeing each other and he is a wonderful man, but........He's pentacostal, and I just went to one of those services and they really tripped me out. Seizures, spasms, rolling on the floor, gurgling and flummering--I had to leave. I was literally afraid--what do they do to them in there!?!?!? I wanted to cry! He says I don't have to attend his church or anything, and I think what we have is real, but this side of him scares me--do they do this kind of thing at home? Please help!

Do you believe that the Pentecostl and the Charismatic movement concerning speaking in tongues is the true speaking in tongues? Even though in Acts 2:4-9 it says that everyone could hear them in the their own tongue and nobody understands the modern tongues movement. Holy Spirit, or Demon Posession?

"a 45-year-old man died of internal bleeding after being anally penetrated by an Arabian stallion"

"They showed us the videos not to show us pornography, but to show an animal that wanted to be with them,"

"The men heard in the film are remarkably honest about their motivations. One of them argues "mammal to mammal" love should not be seen as wrong. "

"They all say the horses were willing participants. "

Remove God....and this and ALL other kinds of perversions enter in. When there is no true God guiding the steps of men. There are no boundaries for evil doings.

I have spent a couple of days on R/S, Just watching questions and responses. I had heard from people how ridicoulous people were here.
I think that it is safe to say that the majority of people here are Atheist's, Agnostics, Christians, and the Spiritual.
I have watched Atheist's ask Christian's who created God and to provide proof..(even though I know that is impossible to answer) and watched as you commented and laughed about the fact that they can't answer you. I have watched Christians ask "How did the universe get here..and provide proof" and not one answer too that.
I have seen Questions ridiculing Christians and then questions asking "So who exactly persecutes Christians" The answers are from the same people, who actually do it, and reply that they are "crying" about it.

Now my question?

Are your eyes completely closed as too what you do? This is for Christians as well...Do you realize what you do and say?

When Muslim women cover their hair and wear loose clothes people say...
they are "oppressed". in fact they are obeying the orders of their Lord to be modest, not cultural or social mores. and when, Christian nuns cover their hair out of modesty, yet no one considers them “oppressed”. By following the command of Allaah, Muslim women are doing the exact same thing.

Sometimes, people see covered Muslim women and they think of this as oppression. This is wrong. A Muslim woman is not oppressed, in fact, she is liberated. This is because she is no longer valued for something material, such as her good looks or the shape of her body. She compels others to judge her for her intelligence, kindness, honesty and personality. Therefore, people judge her for who she actually is.

The Prophet , once said to a group of Companions : "The best among you are those who are the best to their wives." This shows that Islam highly encourages treating the wives well. They should be shown love, respec

Why is it that Ronald Reagan and others in the American administration frequently called the Afghan Mujahideen freedom fighters during their war against the Soviet Union, yet twenty years later when a new generation of Afghan men are fighting against what they perceive to be a regime installed by foreign powers, their attacks are labelled terrorism by George W. Bush?

My question is: Do you have faith? and who do you put your faith in? and has GOD or a person ever let you down, when you put your faith into them?

Since people are all flawed I never put my faith into them although I do hope they will always do what they say and sometimes they do sometimes not, but GOD always lives up to me when I put all my faith into him?

What has been your experience?

If no one thought their way was the ONLY way, would there be less death from war?

Death by violence will never end, of course, but death because of religion could end.

How can you deny Divine Prophecy? The book of Isaiah was written 740-680 B.C. and it mentions the conquering of Cyrus (Isaiah 45:1). And Cyrus wasn't even born until around 590 or 576 B.C.

Jesus fulfilled around 60 major Messianic prophecies (not including the 270 ramifactions). Fulfilling just eight of them is 1 in 10 to the 17 power, or 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000, Just 48 prophecies is 10 to the power of 157. And Jesus couldn't have set it up to fulfill these prophecies. Jesus, (if He was just a man) couldn't have had control over when He was born, (Daniel 9:25) where He was born, (Micah 5:2) and thats just two He didn't have power over. Historical documents show that there was a person by the name of Jesus born around that time period in the town of Bethlehem! You can't deny that He was born in the time necessary and the place that was necessary. Jesus is the Messiah!

is this not a place to learn, how can we learn through nasty nuance and attack answers. is it really one side over the other.
i have to say this is one area where i may tend to have issue with evolution, we are devolving in our ability to maintain discourse, and are acting more like judgmental vindictive little gods.
i do not understand why questions about religion are broken down into spelling lessons or grammar lessons. is that just a way of trying to gain power over the opposing viewpoint? to attack their typing or their knowledge base?
