I've always assumed it was pretty much determined by the Vatican or something, but as far as I can tell most Christians use the KJV. (Unscientific survey some time back.) Are the other gospels less inspired by God? Who determines which books are or aren't God's word?

here's the story; I was on the phone with a friend (girl), after a while she started talking about how 'god' created me an all, then I said "could you prove it?", she actually got mad at me for that..and because of this she thinks I'm a bad person and she doesn't want to go out with me.. Should I respect what she believes in or should I speak my mind.......??? I like her, but there's a part of my that says she's crazy!

Who is the greatest lady of the world? Christian belive Mother Mary. However, Muslim claim Bibi Fatima ( The daughter of Muhammad) but according to Quran Mother Mary is greatest lady of the world whose name has been repeated in Quran more than 35 times. Not only this in one verse God catagorically reminded the superiority of Mother Mary as in verse said " And when the angels said: O Mary! Lo! Allah hath chosen thee and made thee pure, and hath preferred thee above (all) the women of creation.( Aal-e-Imran, Chapter #3, Verse #37) If still Muslim claim that Bibi Fatima is above all the women of the world. Are they follow Quran?

Is it the 100% Omipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient God or our own individual egoes that interpret the Holy Scriptures in various ways ?

Who can be said to be the Real Brahmin (Priest) who's interpretation of the Holy Scripture to be right ? How can our individual ego Judge the right Priest and the correct Interpreter ?

Is it a process of asking within us and praying intensely to the 100 % Omni - All Mighty to show the way ? or Is it accepting the Interpretations and Opinions of the Majority as in a Democratic Set up ?

Where is God bound to be with ? Is it with the Majority ? or Is God not at all bound or limited even by anything including the various Scriptures ?

How can we judge to follow a course of action to reach the Godhood ?

Personally I trust intense ponderings within and without with an open mind ie non - judgemental to accept this Unlimited Omni God, whatever manner THAT may choose to manifest.

What are your thoughts ?

this was one of my answers to my question about becoming an atheist since i pray and pray for God to make me skinny....i guess this is "what i get" for making a joke! :o(

"If you base being a child of God on getting everything you ask for, then you're not! And if you truly have tasted how sweet it is to be His child and still you can walk away, you were never a christian to begin with!!"

i am totally speechless....

Are they incorrect?

Many religion's scholars will look at the same verses and interpret it differently, be it about homosexuality, baptism, trinity, role of women, pastors, deacons, manner of worship etc...

Are the Baptist's scholars right in their interpretation...or is the Presbyterian's, Catholics, Church of God, Methodists, Assembly of God, Jehovah Witnesses, Mormons?

Which are correct and which are wrong? Are any of them wrong?

How can so many well studied, well versed scholars who know the original texts come to such different conclusions on interpretation based on their religion?

How do you choose which to believe? Why do you choose only to respect a few other religious views than your own?

How do you know that your religions scholars are correct in their interpretations?

Why do you point a finger of judgement at others and have a superiority complex in your own beliefs? Shouldn't we respect all others and not stand in judgement?

I go to a church that is non-denominational (Churches of Christ) and I believe that baptism is necessary for salvation and makes u a Christian. However many of my Christian friends are in denominations and they don't believe in the necessity of baptism, and I also worry for my non-Christian friends as well.
Please help! I'm sick of worrying for them all the time...I dun want them to go to Hell...

The Bible declares that "Whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life". John 3:15

He that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only son of God. John 3:18.

Why do Atheist choose death over life especially when Jesus died on the Cross so that all may live eternally with him? All one has to do is personally accept what Christ has done, confess their sins and receive him as Lord and Saviour.

Salvation is a free gift from God. Why is this important step of faith so difficult for Atheists to make? God Loves us and desires to give us a hope and an eternal future.

Salvation is so simple. All you have to do is reach out and say "Yes Lord" I belong with you.
