It's disrespectful in any category to answer "why would you care..." which infers: "why should I care..."
there is no answer there.
As well, I believe it's disrespectful to answer in a way that assumes you (the answerer) are right about what you believe to the expressed exclusion of the askers question.
I have experienced both
as well, I will admit that I have fallen into the "why should you care" category - forgive me all - on some questions that I answered earlier in my Y!A experience.
blessings Uncle Wayne you lovely cuddly primate you :)

I hate it when people go waaaaaaay off topic or treat a joke like it's serious.
I posted a jokey question this morning, and have only gotten deadly serious replies so far!

When you ask a real doozy of a question, and the only response you get back is that you've managed to mis-spell one word in the entire posting....
That pretty much signals that you've managed to defeat them with your questions....

The most ignorant answers I receive are always "Whatever!"
The rough translation is, "I can't think of a single semi-intelligent thing to say."

1) "Les Paul"
2) "well, i really don't know, but fender startacasters are awesome!"

Getting told I spoke with the tongue of a demon.
Way to feel the Christian love.

Edit:
What *really* bothered me was that the question was asked in good faith, and I thought for quite a while before asking....it wasn't some wisecrack.

Once I asked if anyone had a recipe for a vanilla mudcake, and people just posted recipes for white chocolate mudcakes. What the hell is up with that? Vanilla is not white, and it's certainly not chocolate.

Atheism: the logical choice.
Translation: I choose not to believe in God b/c I'm afraid of all the rules religious people have, and I think I'm smarter than everyone else. It also makes me feel better about myself to put Christians down for believing in a book of fairy tales (a book that I have taken no time to actually undersand).
