The Christian God is TRIUNE, Allah is Singular. But further, Allah claims that suggesting "God" needs "helpers" ie; the Holy Spirit, and Jesus, is in fact BLASPHEMY, so that counters the Trinity, and in fact makes Jesus a liar, and God's Word a fairy tail. The Qu'ran also claims that Jesus wasn't God, he was a prophet and his "death" didn't actually occur, it was set up to give the appearance of death.
That takes away from Jesus Crucifixion as an atonement for sin, and basically makes the entire Christian belief and basis invalid.
In no way shape or form are they the same God.

Not at all. The Triune God of the Bible is not the same as the Allah of the Q'uran. The God of Christianity exists eternally in three persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus is both the Son of God and the second person of the Trinity. This is not at all like the God of the Q'uran. Since Islam teaches that Jesus was just a prophet, not the Son of God or the second person of the Trinity, the Muslim God and the Christian God are not and cannot be the same.

Allah = the jew GOD = the Father of chrisitians trinity (one of the 3)

and no allah was never been called the moon god
in the matter of fact allah is saying in clear words in the quran
that the moon the sun and every thing we can and cant see has been created by him

if you are intersted let me tell you the story:

abraham had 2 sons ishmail and ishack (izack) (i dont know the eng name for them)

the sons of izack are the jew

the sons of ishmail are the arab (not all the arab as in fact the nomadic tripes that ishmail lived with took the name too)
ie the arab are the sons of ishmail + nomadic tribes

now ishmail and ibraham bulid the kaba in mecca as a place to face when praying as instrected by GOD to be his hous on earth
(no he does not live there .its the same as calling the chrish the hous of GOD )

up until now the arab have only one GOD
and the tribes came in the holydays to worship GOD = allah
the one and only god

now only the sons of ishmail had the control over mecca which mean also all the money too

(when people come from far away they need food and a place to stay which mean they will spend money ... now look at the vatican and you will understaned )

this however made some of the close tribes julouse which usually leads to war
the tribes own the war and now mecca has transformed even more to a materilistec and shoping city
convoy travliing all the way to north and south bringing all sort of cloth and other things including a cultral changes

now the idols has been dicoverd and brought to mecca and with the sons of ishmail now called THE Hashimmiin being out of the pollitic and spritual pic
the arab converted little by little into poly gods worshiping nation the head of the gods ( allat wa al aoza)
allat is the moon god and the aoza the sun god

now in arabic tongue ALLAT and Allah are very far apart and has never been thought of as being the same

and from here and the cresent shape (which is the sympole of the ottoman empire)

and so some very clever chrisitian came up with the idea that Allah is the moon god

No, I do not. The fact that "Allah" means "God" doesn't mean Muslims worship the One, true God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Here's two points of proof from the OT:

1. Isaiah 19:18-24 describes the conversion of Egypt (a Muslim nation) to belief in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob during the time Christians refer to as the Tribulation. Note what verses 21-22 say:

21 Then the LORD will be >>known<< to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the LORD in that day, and will make sacrifice and offering; yes, they will make a vow to the LORD and perform it. 22 And the LORD will strike Egypt, He will strike and heal it; >>they will return to the LORD,<< and He will be entreated by them and heal them.

How can a nation that already worships the One true God not also "know" Him? How can they "return" if they never left?

There are similar prophesies regarding other Muslim nations -- but the bottom line is that God has decreed that these Muslim nations do not know Him.

2. Psalm 83, which most scholars agree is actually an end-times prophecy, reads at verse 2: "For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head." If you carefully research each of the nations named in this prophecy, you'll see they are Israel's historic enemies -- and ALL are Muslim nations. If Muhammad was right and Islam is destined to rule the world, then how could the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob be the same as Allah if He considers Muslims His enemies?

Allah is referred by Muslims to the supreme and most powerful authority in this universe. He is one and omnipresent. No one is like Him. He can do anything and everything and does not need any body's assistance in it. No body can compel Him to do or prevent from not doing anything. He can never be helpless. He is the greatest. Neither He was born nor anybody is born out of Him. Neither He sleeps nor drinks nor eats. He never contradicts Himself. He shall live forever and can never die and nothing can stop His existence. If anyone believes the same about God as well then there is no difference between Allah and God otherwise there is a basic and great difference. The concepts of Christianity referred by Chris suffer with several logical lacuna. One who has not done anything wrong can not be believed to be a sinner, but surprisingly Christians believe that even a newly born baby is full of sins. Christians do not believe in past life and rebirth etc. unlike Hindus, then the question arises as to what is the crime of an infant? Probably his crime is that he was born a human being? how can god be so tyrant that in order to show his supremacy or that of his so called son every body is helplessly born sinful. True God can never help in injustice. Simply by believing in Jesus a person is pardoned of his all sins. where is the justice to those who were the victims of the sins or crimes of such Christians? It is not that Allah cannot save anyone as alleged by Chris, but unlike the concept in Christianity Allah does not save or pardons a person (whether Muslim or non-believer) who has caused any harm to another person (whether Muslim or non-believer) until the victim of his wrong pardons him. With due respect I ask What is Trinity? I have been told like this. There was a god... he himself was his son..... and apart from father and the son he was Holy Spirit and all three became Trinity and trinity is god. Quite confusing and unnatural.

No because the Jewish and Christian God Jehovah, is called the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. God made a covenant with Abraham that through him there would be a mighty nation, Israel. And, most importantly, that through Abraham and his son Isaac there would come the Messiah, Jesus, from the house of David, who would come and be the Savior of the world for those who believe.

A Few Hebrew Names and Their Meanings
Adonai-Jehovah -- The Lord our Sovereign
El-Elyon -- The Lord Most High
El-Olam -- The Everlasting God
El-Shaddai -- The God Who is Sufficient for the Needs of His People
Jehovah-Elohim -- The Eternal Creator
Jehovah-Jireh -- The Lord our Provider
Jehovah-Nissi -- The Lord our Banner
Jehovah-Ropheka -- The Lord our Healer
Jehovah-Shalom -- The Lord our Peace
Jehovah-Tsidkenu -- The Lord our Righteousness
Jehovah-Mekaddishkem -- The Lord our Sanctifier
Jehovah-Sabaoth -- The Lord of Hosts
Jehovah-Shammah -- The Lord is Present
Jehovah-Rohi -- The Lord our Shepherd

P.S. Jehovah loves the descendants of Ishmael too.

You tell me this -- Are the God of Abraham and the Christian God the same god?

If so, then yes, because Allah is simply arabic for 'the god', not a formal name, not a proper noun.

Maybe you should ask this question instead:

"Jews and Christians follow YHVH. Is that the same god that Muslims mean when they speak of allah? Do Muslims follow YHVH?"

And the answer to that question is -- yes.

Muslims claim that Allah is the same God as the Christian God, because many people's names that are mentioned in the Bible are also mentioned in the Koran.
However, if you look at the character of Allah in the Koran and compare him with the character of the God of the Bible, they are NOT THE SAME.
The god of the Koran demands that Muslims pray five times a day, fast for a whole month, etc.but in the end, do Muslims KNOW that they will go to heaven for all the hard religious exercises they did? NO, they don't.

The God of the Bible is a good of love, who sent Jesus to take people's death penalty in their place, and offers them the ASSURANCE that they will be in heaven with Him forever, if they accept Jesus' sacrifice for themselves. Not only do they receive eternal life in heaven, but also enjoy a love relationship with Him while living on earth.

1.John 5:13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may KNOW that you have eternal life.
John 5:24 Jesus said: "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me HAS ETERNAL LIFE AND WILL NOT BE CONDEMNED; he has crossed over from death to life.

If I as a Muslim ask one of my Christian friends, is the creator you worship invisible? is He the creator of all that is? is He the one who has sent messengers previously with scripture to guide mankind? and they say 'yes' then we're worshipping the same Creator.

That is the basis of both of these religions.

With the addition of the following quality by Christians: God has a son, can have a son or etc.

This is an addition to the qualities Ive mentioned before.

It doesnt make the God a different God. Just one that has an extra characteristic added on by Christians that we Muslims think it clashing with our understanding of god.

To us, God is God and humans are human.

Creator will not become created.
Created will not become creator.
