I mean, pretty much everyone is telling me that this is a "fallen world" because of A&E, and that's why people die, and that's why people need salvation in the form of a messiah. Let me know if I've got this right...

It's A&E's fault that we are all tainted with sin and death. In the scenario that they hadn't fallen, this world wouldn't be "fallen". So... IF they hadn't fallen, THEN it wouldn't've been necessary for the Jesus to be sacrificed to Yahweh...... right?

Just wanting to make sure that I've got it right.

do you think God has put this 1st commandment for a joke?
"you shall not take other gods before Me"

Matthew 19:17
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

do you think Jesus was joking when he seperates himself from God in the above verse?

if u r going to urge after showing you this, then ur disbelieving is unbelievable and too much stubborn.

Most Muslim countries only got their freedom 50-60 years ago..... after being colonized by European powers.

Hence the extreme mistrust of European and American leaders.

Politically they are more unorganized than America was 50 years after its independance.

And the superpowers of the world are shaking with fear of the Muslims !!

9/11 could not have been pulled off without inside help so the powers to be want to deceive the masses and redirect the focus of the fear in the wrong direction.

Its nothing less than hilarious and mind boggling.

...they can see that they've been there & done that in past lives, and thus know the pro's & con's, what-would-happen-ifs, whys, why nots, hows, etc...?

Some may see enough in this life, and the lives around them, to infer, though.

What do you think?

(This is) from a 'Buddhist' point of view.

Do you just keep running on empty? (If yes, how is that possible?)

Is there a way to have a quick "refill" and keep going on with your day, giving, etc....?

Why do you say this? Is this really what you've experienced? I don't see as many Christians that are as pushy and hypocritical as you say their are. I see people say this all the time and I wish they'd stop.

I have been thinking about this for a couple of days now and have refrained from asking because I was afraid you guys would think I was slamming you and truly I am not. I believe in God, but I am open minded to all beliefs. I have explored a variety of religions, but never the lack of one. I cannot imagine life without God in it. So if you would bare with me, I would like to understand the other side a little better. So here is my question, and please know I am really curious and not wishing to hurt anyone or disrespect any beliefs: When the chips are down, and there is no one left that you can depend on, who or what do you turn to?

I'm often told that suffering and death are due to "free will", but when a disease causes a death, what does that death have to do with free will?

If we can't chalk it up to the human element, can we chalk it up to anything? Can we blame anyone? Or does bad stuff sometimes just.... happen?

James Dobson's focus on the family program featured some insight on the religion radical Islam. Some of the things that was mentioned seem so much like the book of revelations KJV. Just for one example: In the 1980's the Islamics had a meeting, in this meeting they stated they wanted to take over the West, meaning Europe & North America and convert them to Islam because they believe that Christianity has failed. To me that sounds like they want to take over the world!! The prophecies are being fulfilled faster and faster, look at whats happening in Israel. Please go to www.oneplace.com/ministries/Focus_on_the_Family/archives.asp?bcd=2007-5-16 and listen to this entire thing on Radical Islam and tell me what you think.

Natural disasters like these are environmental processes that have been going on for billions of years. There is nothing human beings can do to induce earthquakes, volcanic eruptions or tsunamis. Even tornadoes and hurricanes are caused by natural mechanisms (although there is some evidence that global warming is increasing the tendency for more severe weather.)

In any event, earthquakes, volcanoes and tsunamis are a result of platetechtonics, which has been at work long before human beings arrived on the scene. It's not god, it's not pollution, it's not sin, and it's not Satan. It's good old mother earth shaking her continental plates.

Get it?

I was wondering if I'm the only one doing this, because for me censoring clearly doesn't work.

I watch TV, someone says something bad, and I hear this 'bleep' or 'buzz' or whatever it's called in the English language.

Then I start to guess which cuss word was bleeped away, so in my head are at least 20 to 30 different cuss words at that time, in my little guessing game.

So, censoring cuss words makes it much worse for me. One censored bad word is traded for 20 new ones in my head. Am I the only one doing that, or is this a common thing?

Did I not tell you earlier that a Jew is such a noble, precious jewel that God and all the angels dance when he farts?---Martin Luther (On the Jews and Their Lies)

“What then shall we Christians do with this damned, rejected race of Jews?
First, their synagogues should be set on fire, and whatever does not burn up should be covered or spread over with dirt so that no one may ever be able to see a cinder or stone of it. And this ought to be done for the honour of God and of Christianity, in order that God may see that we are true Christians.
Secondly, their homes should be likewise broken down and destroyed.
Thirdly, they should be deprived of their prayerbooks and talmuds in which such idolatry, lies, cursing and blasphemy are taught.
Fourthly, their rabbis must be forbidden under threats of death to teach anymore.” – Martin Luther

“If I find a Jew to baptize, I shall lead him to the Elbe bridge, hang a stone around his neck, and push him into the water, baptizing him with the name of Avraham!.. I cannot convert the Jews. Our lord Christ did not succeed in doing so; but I can close their mouths so that there will be nothing for them to do but to lie upon the ground.” – Martin Luther

“I hope I shall never be so stupid as to be circumcised; I would rather cut off the left breast of my Catherine and of all women.” --- Martin Luther

“If we are to remain unsullied by the blasphemy of the Jews and not wish to take part in it, we must be separated from them and they must be driven out of the country.” – Martin Luther

I find myself in an odd situation and could use some advice.
First of all I am agnostic and really have no belief in God. Maybe thats why I find this so odd for me.
I have a friend who is Christian and I have no doubt he is in his heart or at least wants to be. I watch him and what he wants to be doing. Spreading the word is I suppose what you call it. He doesnt push..in fact he knows I am agnostic and is very patient with me. I can tell he is frustrated with my beliefs yet still remains calm.
The problem is I see him as a bigot in so many ways. Yes I know this sounds crazy and I dont mean it to be mean or harsh.
Some of the things he says like "such and such church is so wrong" or something negative about gays. I think maybe with me he uses me as a vent system and most likely doesnt go spouting these things off to the general public.
Yet it bothers me that he thinks this way. It bothers me because I think it is a major barricade to what he is trying to do. I think he really

and the tornado in kansas a few weeks ago and the forest fires in the south, northeast and west? isn't that retaliation for someones sins too or is it only directed towards the sinners when a religious person interprets it that way and other instances of natures wrath is just everyday part of god's plan kind of stuff which he has on his regular schedule of events?

The head and jaw of a panda is much larger than that of a grizzly or polar bear. The large jaw aids the panda in digesting bamboo, which makes up the majority of it's diet. Unfortunately, the panda can only digest about 20% of the massive quantities of bamboo it eats each day. In fact, the panda has to spend almost all its waking hours eating, just to stay alive.

The reason for this is that the panda bear has the same carnivores digestive system as its grizzly and polar bear cousins.

So if the panda bear was intelligently designed, why would god give it the jaws to chew and eat bamboo, but not the digestive system to digest it? Oversight? Intentionally cruelty?

Isn't it more likely that the panda was merely a species of carnivorous bear that found itself confined to a land with little animal prey, and over time, larger jawed pandas out competed smalled jawed pandas for the only source of food, resulting in large jawed pandas becoming dominant?
