There is a contradiction in bible about this

MAT 1:16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

LUK 3:23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was
the son of Heli.

If bible is a word of God which is not altered then how come these contradictions came into it??

Have Christians realized that Christianity coincides with the superstition in many cases? Have many people also noticed that it is perceived merely as a crutch to grasp a purpose of life? Are more people coming to this realization? I believe when human beings as a whole are more knowledgeable of the world around them, they're will be less Christians. People, don't forget how extreme Christianity was - burning literature NOT relating to Christianity ( making the bible appear as one of the oldest books) the burning of accused "witches", stoning and etc. How does that sound in this day and age? Ludicrous! That's how it sounds! And you know what approach Christians take - "They were extremist/that was a long time ago" No! That's not it! People are starting to realize that it serves no purpose, and it will only be around because people want a fairy tell of how we were created because they're too lazy to deduce for themselves!

I know I am going to get Bible quotes and such and I already know those quotes in Leviticus and in Exodus etc. But why were so many famous occultists through history Christians or Jewish themselves.

They for instance defended magic as the highest science and a way in which man can be brought closer to God and help him restore his true place in creation. For instance I am referring to Renaissance thinkers such as Henry Cornelius Agrippa who wrote the Three Books of Occult philosophy. Or Pico Della Mirandola, Marsillio Ficino. There are so many of these thinkers. This magic they defended was based on the system of Jewish mysticism known as the Kaballah and some of these thinkers even thought that the kabbalah could illuminate the mysteries of Christianity.

The various medieval books on magic known as "grimoires" are also from a Christian and Jewish context commanding spirits with the aid of God. And some of them contain systems of angelic magic and how a person can contact angels

After reading the Bible, I discovered that if I become a Christian, I'd be able to stone kids who work at Tacobell on Sundays, own a slave, discriminate against people, stone my family, and all this other neat stuff!

So, how do I become a Christian?

Who are you, really? Daughter or son to your parents, husband or wife of somebody, a mother, a father, a professional?

Unacceptable!. What a sad thing you are. Unable to answer such a simple question without falling back on references, and genealogies and what other people call you. Have you nothing of your own?

Nothing to stand on that is not provided, defined, delineated, stamped, sanctioned, numbered and approved by others. How can you be expected to fight for someone else when you haven't the fairest idea: who--you--are ?

(based on Babylon 5)

So, the question is open: who are you?

Only weeks ago, the Roman Catholic Church reversed the traditional teaching about Limbo. Corollarily, if priests could not marry today, could it also be possible that this view change in the future?
